the tree that we are doing it on swings us into the river so how would we tie something so it dont break

I would use a clove hitch backed up with a half hitch. Or just a bunch of half hitches. Make sure that the rope is cynched tight to the branch so that it can't rub as much when you swing.

I use a "cross over figure eight" used in fly tying, the harder you pull, it just gets tighter.
I use it an all my Walleye lures I make.

square knot, if done correctly will just get tighter as you pull on it.
