You can regergitate in your sleep from a malfunction of the sphinctor that is between your stomach and your esophagous. It may be too relaxed, especially during sleep, and since you're lying down, well, up it all comes. You should probably see a gastro-enterologist just to be sure.
Try not eating too close to bedtime, and no alcohol because this will relax the sphinctor also. Prop up the head of your bed, too.

What causes you to regergitate in your sleep is if you ate too much before going to sleep or if you are sick or have a flu....

An ulcer or a acid reflux either way get to a doctor. If you are young its probably acid reflux, its easily fixable with some pepcid complete take a half before bed if that does not work then see a doc
