Who made the Taliban and Alqaeda the official representatives of Islam ?

Why should Muslims have to answer for what a tiny minority of people (who are of the Islamic religion) are doing for their own twisted reasons?

That would be like asking every Christian in the world to rise up and answer for what the KKK or the IRA or the ETA does in their country.

The Bible is full of verses exhorting the "believers" to kill the enemies of God. The Crusades give an ending proof to Christian violence but nobody is expecting all the Christians to answer for their history and past violence. How many support the present violence ?

Muslims never appointed the Taliban or Alqaeda as our official representatives so we are not obligated to answer for their crimes.

If people ignore the rest of the 1.5 billion Muslims and blame Islam for the actions committed by this tiny minority then they are only looking to malign Islam and they will not easily find Muslims to join in on their smear campaign.

WE did, us moderate and non violent ones by not voicing our opinions and opposing them for the fear that we may be portrayed as traitors. But look at the mess we are in now, those pshyco, crazy eyed, gun totting morons are the face of our religion. I lands squarely on us. Some times people like us have to leave the comforts of home to ensure those comforts will be there later on. We need to make it known that we as a majority are not represented by the rich and powerfull minority of these morons.
And another thing, can we finally accept that the Saudis are the main ones causing all this crap? They are the ones exporting this crap ideology (wahabi), they are the ones financing it and the main cause of it but do you ever hear about the violence, bombings and suicide bombing happening over there? Yeah they had a couple of em but other countries are going through the brunt of it. If they are so insistant on exporting their ideology (wahabi), how come they dont have the same problems? Its the old mantra of do as I say, not as I do.

LAstly I am a proud muslim (even though I am suspicious about gods motives) so dont send me any pro saudi or pro wahabi emails.

Alqaeda and the Taliban are the creation of the US GOVERNMENT. They were created first to defeat the USSR "invasion" of Afghanistan in 1979/1980 and to give Islam a bad name in the 1990's. Osama Bin Laden and Alqaeda are nothing more than a "designated boogeyman" as well as the Arab CIA partners in crime. The "Alqaeda" activity in Iraq is under the direct supervision of CIA (as have all their "operations" been) and is meant to perpetrate chaos in Iraq while the western powers consolidate their hold on Iraq's resources (OIL).

These people are about as representative of Islam as Satan (George Bush Sr.) himself.

Great question good now how many Muslims will follow this and out of 98% non participants in terrorist activities how many will condemn the acts.

Yes Muslims never appointed them but never denied them, never fought against them.

When a ignorant person asks a question of Prophet did he know about India and the answer comes like this yes he know it and he said to fight against it and who fights hell fire will not touch him and that is the cause why many Muslim tribes invaded India, Is this is the answer required.

For most of them Religion comes first then comes something else and at last may be country they live in.

And when the Buddhist Statues were demolished in Afghanistan how many of these Muslims condemned. And Babri was demolished and lot of cry was there, lot of temples demolished in Pakistan but no one want to know.

In road widening when Temples were demolished in Gujarat nothing happened but 1 darga was demolished and the total state was closed for 2 days.

when Tamil Tigers are fighting for some thing no Hindu in India went to help them, but when some one in Chechnya do some thing to other then why it gets fire in Bangalore or Hyderabad Muslim ***

first of all KUDOS friend for a brilliant question.... i agree with your view point that who asked al qaeda to represent islam ???
but there are a few finer nuances which are different & are left unanswered..

1.why do people in pakistan foment terror when it is their country with their religious ways, their way of life their governments ?? why do they let radicals run riot & keep quiet ??? do they support fanatism ?
2.palestine was freed . yet the terrorism persists ?? why ??
3. indian muslims have all freedom yet some of them choose to be fanatic ? why ?
4.saudi arabia is ruled as per shariah laws in toto ...yet people are unhappy & they need mutawa & other draconian laws to control law & order ?
5.dubai has a liberal government ruled as per shariah law & is cosmopolitan & they dont have any problems !!!!!!

a lot of these questiona may have contradictory answers........i dont know..would like to know......
personally i feel wether muslim, hindu, christian or any other religion...all should unite against any form of violence/terror in the name of religion & then will there be peace loving people on one side ( a huge majority ) against fragmented religious fanatics ( afragmented & weak minority) & the majority will be able to instill fear in the minority.
