Stithh -pragya as defined by shri Krishna in Geeta.

Shiva, the pure consciousness at the core of my being...

watching silently...and sustaining my being
patience of a Mother, love of a beloved
well wishes of a guru, confidence of a friend
the one who never gets disappointed on my falls
the one who never mocks at my weaknesses

the one who does not abandon me..
as a hopeless case !
the one who does not mock at me
at my imperfections, my childish cries
the one who fights for me..
sometimes..
the one who leaves me alone sometimes..
to make me brave....big child

the one who drives my chariot...
but refuses to fight my campaign
the one who gives me his enlightening pat
when i feel...i am alone

the one who takes my mind
makes it His tool...
the one who makes my heart
his beloved flute...

and plays the music.. He wishes
make me dance like a gopi
against my wishes

who else ?...my dear naughty Krishna !!!!!

Your question is indeed interesting, but I do not agree with it.

The nature of mind is such that it feeds your ego when you are applauded, eats into your confidence when you are mocked, leads you into sloth with a soothing breeze & makes you panic during a tempest. It is weaker than your heart & is most of the times in conflict with it.

Mind is similar to Water -
Let if free & it'll flow ceaselessly till it loses it's identity (evaporated, absorbed, etc).
Learn to control it & it can work wonders (like a hydraulic pump or a dam).

The only spontaneous thing that takes us along throughout the journey of life is our very own Conscience, the immortal Atman.

If our mind becomes the slave of our senses, it'll lead us towards destruction; whereas, if the mind contemplates on the Atman, it'll lead us to the ultimate.

During tempest the mind should behave like a stone.
A strong and firm mind is required when facing crises.
Yes, a strong will-power is the requirement.

Marcus Aurelius: The Meditations, Book Four:
"Be like the cliff against which the waves continually break, but which stands firm and tames the fury of the water around it."

A Hindu marriage ritual:
Ashmarohanam (Treading the Stone)/Stepping on the grinding stone :
After pradhaana homam, the bridegroom holds the right toe of the bride and lifts her leg and places it on a flat granite grinding stone known as "ammi" in Tamil. The ammi stands at the right side of the sacred fire. The husband recites a Veda mantra when he places the right foot of his wife on the ammi:
'May you stand on this firm stone. May you be rock-firm during your stay on this grinding stone. May you stand up to those who oppose you while you carry out your time-honoured responsibilities as a wife sanctioned by the Vedas and tradition. May you develop tolerance to your enemies and put up a fair fight to defend your legitimate rights as the head of the household in a firm manner, equal to the steady strength of this grinding stone.'

"Sthitha Prajna".

It is the state of mind which keeps your self in divine sate of happiness... which can not be snatched by any mockers or critics. You have the soothing breeze within... without chance for a storm. It the strongest of all... supreme power within.. which can't be shaken by words or deeds of disturbing lot. It is the clear stream of water... which flows.. singing and dancing to reach its goal.... the Ocean... where all impurities are just vanished in the wastness and power of purity.
