I can definately relate to your situation! Im 20yrs old and ever since graduation from H.S., I gained a lot of weight. I was really athletic in school and wanted to get back into shape. I just lost about 20 lbs by watching what I ate, and especially how much (very important). I joined a gym and got into the habit of at least going 3 to 4 times a week doing whatever I could to keep my heart rate up. In the meantime, I allowed myself to eat what I craved because I knew that if I didn't, I would relapse! :) But dont overdo it. Have a couple cookies (lets say 2-3) if you want, but watch what else you eat throughout the day. Definately listen to the advice that the majority of the people here are giving you. Eat little meals throughout the day (proteins, fruits and veggies) and you will feel a difference on how full you will feel! And above all, be good to yourself! Becoming obsesive about eating tostitos crumbs will never work. hehe Do not starve yourself, but eat smart and there's nothing wrong with cheating from time to time! Listen to your body, and you will see results. Stick with it and good luck! I know that you can do it, I'm proof :)

That doesn't seem bad to me. The key to maintaining a healthy weight is to eat in moderation. The tostitos scoops are fine to eat, so long as you don't eat too much of them, you know? I would try to limit your eating, though. While breakfast is an important meal of the day, you should still keep a limit to your eating. Though it really depends on your portions of everything--how big was the bowl? How much yogurt? How many scoops? Use your instincts, here, and maybe coinsult a dietitian! The cereal, though, I've never heard of, so I'm not sure. You should look into General Mills cereal because it's whole-grain!

It's tough to answer without more info. You need x amount of protein, and x amount of carbohydrates to OPTIMALLY fuel your vehicle (body). The variable x will be different for everybody depending on how much work (exercise) you do with your vehicle.
How much sugar was in that yogurt? SUGAR IS THE BIGGEST FAT FACTOR!!!
CHECK OUT BECCA M'S POST ABOUT THE FIRST 4 INGREDIENTS!!!
If you are serious about taking care of your self, see a nutritionist/personal trainer. It will be well worth the $50-$100 for a one-session education.

Tostitos are not good and the cereal.......it is ok if it is whole grain and limited in sugars.. Check out the 1st 4 ingredients, if there is sugar, hydrogenated, corn syrup or enriched, then it isn't good for you!! That is the basic rules...Also, make sure you follow the servings sizes. Might seem like you are starving yourself, but your body will adapt in a week or so.

You need to eat more! Starving yourself is not going to help you lose weight in the long term, as it will affect your metabolism. You should be eating a healthy, varied diet of at least 1500 calories per day.

Not bad calorie wise but you could probably use some vegetables, fruit, and protein!
A great website to keep track of calories, vitamins, and other nutrients is sparkpeople.com
If you eat more substantial stuff, you'll probably eat less, I'd lay off the Tostitos though!

You have the right idea. You need to do a google search on calories. I have found websites that will let you put in your normal daily activites and it will show you how much you burn in a day. The idea is to burn more calories than you take in, so if you burn 500-1000 more than you take in, you will definatly lose weight. Good Luck!
