try for a pell grant.....it is a grant that will pay for books and etc, and you will not have to pay those back, or you could try a student loan, I know you have to pay those back, but i am not sure what the standards are on those, but even middle class has problems paying for college. I am middle class and there is no way right now that I could send either one of my kids to college. There are other options besides loans and etc. Have you talked to a college counselor and had them tell you that you had no options for college? If you haven't, I would make an appointment with the guidance counselor at your college, and tell them about your situation and not being able to afford college, now a days they can come up with all kinds of remedies.

Regardless apply for financial aid because through them you can get a loan for school and some work study. Also there are thousands of scholarships that can be found through fastweb.com. You should also contact your school and see if they are willing to help you or if they have some kind of financial assistance. If you have an offer from a school that gives you more money than the one you really want to attend then go to the school of your choice and talk to the financial aid department/admissions office and tell them that you would really like to attend their school but because another school is giving you more money you are going to have to choose them, they will probably match that school's offer.

When I applied to online classes for a college in TN I applied for loans, and they are the kind that I don't have to pay back until I graduate. Maybe you could apply for one or two of those.
Hope this helps!

If you still believe in 'class' as a way of distinguishing people by how much money their families have, then that's pretty sad but if you truly do come from a 'middle class' family then they should be able to afford to fund you.
