I've got just the ticket. Take the time to read this in full, then do a search on Yahoo for someone local in your area that does the same type of work.

You want to see your doctor first, then probably an orthopedic surgeon, a chiropractor might snap your neck alright and, if it's a damaged disc or vertebrae then you can sit in a wheel chair for the rest of your life and thank someone from here.

What you need if I'm guessing right is X-Rays first then probably MRI's to see what's wrong in there. If it's O.K. then a doctor can tell you to get therapy and see an chiropractor. You might get one that won't take X-Rays and do more severe damage then good, I've seen it.

Nerve damage in this area will give you pain down to your finger tips, you might get spasms in your arms and pain. You can try ice packs until you decide what to do.
This area of your body controls everything from breathing to swallowing.

I have experienced very similare pain in my life and was GREATLY helped by Chiropractic care. I had chronic sharp neck and back pain and after the first couple adjustments my pain was reduced by more than half. Today I am pain free. You need to have a set of x-rays done by the DR (mine was covered by my health insurance) then they know how to adjust you. The adjustments do not hurt. It really helped me. Good luck!
