I am going to the doctor, don't worry, but in the meantime i have a question. One of my legs is markedly longer than the other. I get sciatica and lower back pain often. Could the difference in length potentially be the problem? It's even worse if I try to wear heels.

A lot of people have trouble because of this! They make 'lifts' that you can wear in a shoe to make up for it. I know someone who had this problem and was helped this way. In extreme cases they will even do an operation where they take a little bit out of the bone in one of your thighs. You should talk to an orthopedic surgeon.

And high heels aren't good for -anyone-. 8^) It's not surprising they give you trouble.

There is a few technology to this! There are 4 main hormones produced even as we're in exertions. Oxytocin, Prolactin, Endorphins (and beta-endorphins), and your catecholamines: epinephrine (adrenaline) and norepinephrine (noradrenalin). Oxytocin is the person who is helping you agreement. Your endorphins are what supply you that 'runners prime'. These chemical substances have a agony comfort end result ten instances extra effective than morphine - that's why we're ready to manage with the 'agony' of work. Catecholmines are what get ready you for 'wrestle' and it's quality should you best have this unlock for the very finish of your exertions -while it is approximately time to push. Catecholmines produce that 'combat or flight' mechanism in our our bodies.. Dr. Grantley Dick-Read theorized that the extra worry a lady had, the extra irritating her frame was once and the extra agony she felt in the course of exertions. The purpose in the back of that is that worry reasons the push adrenaline, reasons the quick, round muscle fibers within the scale back 3rd of the uterus to agreement.. At the equal time that the lengthy, immediately muscle fibers of the uterus are contracting to efface and dilate the cervix, the quick, round muscle fibers of the scale back uterus also are contracting to maintain the cervix closed and "combat" the exertions. The effect? We have 2 strong muscular tissues pulling in reverse instructional materials every time the birthing mom has a contraction. PAIN. If a mom can loosen up, it drops the catecholmine responses and allow's the opposite hormones do their jobs. Not best that, however we have a tendency not to breathe as lightly on this 'combat or flight mode' and that reasons loss of oxygen to the uterus. Our uterus is a muscle, and should you should not have oxygen in a muscle, what occurs? It cramps up! The extra she relaxes and the extra oxygen she brings in, the less complicated the contraction may also be. Along with staying off her again in which the nerve endings are being pressed to the uterus. Yes, our minds can difference how we understand agony. If you watch females supply start - you'll realize that those who believe their our bodies and simply 'allow pass', look to breeze by way of exertions so much less complicated than people who are afraid and 'combat' it. Yes, there are females who've given start with out agony. I had an just about agony unfastened start with my 5th baby - up till the final 10 mins of start. Afterwards, good yeah - I felt agony then!! lol It simply takes a few schooling - and that is why many females search a childbirth elegance that may supply you the equipment to support ease the fears. Because that correct there - IS part the wrestle!

I rather doubt it: no one has even length in thier arms, legs, etc. Unless your body is that far off, you should have had pain and noticed it far beyond this time. Our bodies aren't like that. I'm not saying it isn't I'm saying the probably of it being so, is very far off.

You sound like you have a bulging disc, rupture disc, a slipped vertebrae, it goes on and on. See your doctor first, like you are, he'll order X-Rays first, then in a few days when they come back, MRI's if he doesn't like what he sees or hears from the radiologist, then you'll see an orthopedic surgeon and go from there.

I've been there more then once. Hang in there, use ice packs if your in pain.

This could definitely cause back pain. Avoid heels and see if maybe orthopedic shoes could be made to adjust for the height difference. Orthopedic shoes don't all look bad anymore, but you might have to look around to find some you can handle.

I would think that if you haven't got properly fitted shoes to compensate for the difference in leg lengths, then that could very well be the problem.

This is a common sign that your back is out of place. I would go to your chiropractor as soon as you can to get it the problem fixed. It will ease your pain and also able you to walk in heels.

Absolutely it can.
I have a friend who has the same problem and he went to a chiropractor who fitted him with orthopedic lifts for his shoes.
It fits in his shoes, so no one sees it. But his back is great since he got them.
