Actually, the puritans/pilgrims treated both their women and the indigenous peoples much worse than the Taliban. If you read the Plymouth colony journals you will learn of a tyranny of faith that caused many deaths the first winter. The bond people that were brought with the Pilgrims to fill the ship lived under worse conditions than the African slaves that were to follow as they had no sale value.

Numb nuts, the PILGRIMS landed at Plymouth Rock. The Pilgrims wanted to get rid of the Anglican church, they thought it beyond repair. The Puritans merely wanted to purify the Anglican church and do away with the Book of Common Prayer.

No. At least they(the Puritans) tried to convert the Native Americans peacefully first lol.
But mainly, oppressing women, claiming everything that was fun was the work of the devil, that all women were *blank*(You put the word there)...It was a very VERY strict sect of Christianity....very scary. I would, no doubt, be hung for heresy within the first week if I were there.

No.
The Puritans were, contrary to popular myth, fun loving, happy and prosperous people. They wore colorful clothes and enjoyed life. They worked hard and played harder.
They had some of the largest wine cellars in Europe, and gave them up when they came to America because it was worth the sacrifice for religious freedom.
They had NOTHING in common with the Taliban, ignorant, anti-Christian, hate mongering, bigoted opinion based on stupidy notwithstanding.

Who ever it was that landed, and burned their witches, I think you are not far off!
But I think we may be alone!

No. They were simply interested in getting away from the Anglican Church and having freedom of worship. They were quite well behaved compared to many others.
My guess is you don't quite grasp theology or history...
