Oh my gosh is okay. Just not oh my G**. That is taking the Lord's name in vain.

I've never really thought of "oh my gosh" being blasphemous... Isn't a good replacement for the alternative? Switch to "Oh gee" or something else that you can just replace it with? I know I used to start saying "Guy" instead of "God" until "guy" started to seem weird when I got older and I didn't say either one. I guess, mostly, just try to be really conscious of what you say. I know I used to swear like crazy back in the day and I'd write obscenities all over the place on everything, when I was in high school. Then, I just kind of stopped swearing at all. For one thing, it just doesn't accomplish anything, for another, doing it all the time really wore out any "meaning" it may have had, and while I'll on rare occasions let a swear slip out accidentally now, it's something serious and people take it seriously if I do because they recognize that in general I just don't.

Jesus Christ, could you be any more uptight? You're concerned with the phrase "Oh my gosh" offending god? Good god woman, loosen up.
By the way, "gosh" is just a softened form of god. It might look different and sound different, but since it was created specifically to replace the word god, it's just a different word for the same sentiment. And that sentiment is what's blasphemous. So even saying "oh my gosh" is blasphemy, if you believe that sort of nonsense.

Oh my Gosh is not a bad word. Some might say its the same as saying on my God, but its not. Do not be scared for a Christian cannot Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. We can grieve the Holy Spirit.

are you thinking:
Mat 12:31 Wherefore, I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
if so, then what does the verse really say? it says blasphemy (railing, treason against, being offended by...etc) will not be forgiven men. is that so bad?
1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot, inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
Paul tells us that men won't be inheriting the kingdom of God anyway. so we need to look for the spirit. what is spirit?
John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Gosh is not Blasphemy. Using God's name is not good for casual use unless it is for praise. Using his name in a vengeful way is wrong. But, God forgives through his son Jesus. So ask God to forgive you and ask him to take and add other words to your vocabulary that fit the language. If I flippantly say Oh God, I say a prayer and honor his creation.

If you worry about it you give it power and will keep running through your mind making you feel more guilty.
The same thing happens to me but with nastier and extremely offensive words; Anger towards God powers them I think-so they become blasphemous.
I just don't want to think them but they keep running through my mind-makes me depressed and feeling so guilty at times. So you aren't alone. I'm glad I am able to identify with you.(Glad in the sense that I'm not alone) x
I am a Christian.
Each time it happens I ask God to forgive me-and he does.
Somewhere in the New Testament it says-if a man asks you for forgiveness 77 times 7 then forgive him. I think it was Jesus that said this. So we are forgiven
Also I know that if we are afraid that we have "Grieved the Holy Spirit" then we haven't.
Because a person who has-would not feel any fear or guilt about it. I read up on it in my brother's Concordance.

Why would "oh my gosh" be blasphemy? I don't understand. Gosh is a made up word. Don't let it get to you and make you crazy, ok?

You have hit on the keyword here. ITs about your heart, if you truely want to stop saying it, you will, just keep trying.
One day, before you know it, you will not have said it for a while and a huge smile will come across your face, for you have been given the courage to work at and accomplish something from your inside out.

Actually, "Gosh" is short for "Goshen". "Land o' Goshen" was an exclamation that would have been common in the 1920's or so...
You would not be committing blasphemy by this phrase.
Soli Deo Gloria
