Well consider how many of those people will be drinking then the number of drinks, on average, they will be drinking and multiply that by 1/2 shot per drink. 1 Bottle holds roughly 18 shots.
So if 70 of the 75 were drinking and each of them had 2 drinks and you put 1/2 shot of rum in each drink that's about 8 Fifths of Rum.

Each drink requires 1 1/2 ounces of rum so you will need about 3 1/2 quarts (4 1/2 750 ml bottles) for each "round" for all 75 people. I would recommend you allow 2 rounds. Some people will drink a bit more, others less but that should average out about right. You can also buy rum most places in 1.75 Liter bottles. For 2 rounds you would need about 7 quart or 9 750 ml or 4 1.75 liter bottles.

Lets say you use 1 ounce of rum per drink:
1 bottle: 1000 mililiters = 35oz per bottle
You will get 35 drinks per bottle.
Each person might drink, lets say, 5 piñas coladas, so 7 people will drink out of a 1 liter bottle.
If you are expecting 75 people, and every 7 will drink 1 bottle, you should get 10 or 11 bottles or rum. If you are going to use more than 1 ounce for each drink, lets say 2 ounces, double the amount then.

That depends on what other drinks you will be serving and how many guests you will have that drink. If you are only serving the Pina Coalda (for alcohol) you may want to consider serving it from a fountain to keep it mixing and top off as needed this will keep the drinks flowing with the least amount of attention from you and you will need less alcohol too since you can use smaller (bucket size cups or coconut shell). If you use a fountain you will use 3-4 large bottles(1.75 liter) as opposed to 6-8 on free pour which will make them stronger and weaker to the drinkers preference. There is also a yummy Ice Cream pina colada punch that is really good and you would only use 2 (1.75 liter) bottles for the whole group. It really depends on your budget and what else you will serve. Good Luck!

I figure you can make at least 10-12 drinks per 750 ml bottle. So I'd buy about 8 bottles just to be on the safe side. Rather have it & not need it, than need it & not have it. Depends on how strong you make the drinks. I'm figuring on about 3oz of rum per drink. That's decent strength for a party without gettting totally wasted.

Since you are from Wisconsin as I am, it is safe to assume you will need 1 bottle of rum for every 3 people.

Generally you would use 1 ounce of rum per drink so figure 8 oz per cup, there would be approx 128 oz per 1/2 gal of rum. that would be not quite 2 drinks per person....
