Well first of all tell your neighbor to stop you could call the cops on them they shouldn't do that. And with the dogs get one of your friends to hold out normal dog food and you stick your hand next to his if your dog eats of your Buddy's hand gently scold them eventually your dog will learn to eat only to eat out of your hand.

if you are certain that this is happening then you need to file a police report and also call the local animal control. In the meantime keep your dogs in the house and take them out only under your supervision. Get your dogs used to eating only a certain kind of food and at a certain time each day. Train them also to eat from a bowl placed directly on your porch and when they are done take the bowl in the house. Keep their water bowl where you can keep an eye on it at all times and make sure you provide fresh water at least twice daily. If the neighbors are coming into your yard them have them arrested for trespassing, if they are throwing food into your yard and the dogs are eating it off the ground then you may have to put the dogs into a fenced in run until the problem can be solved.

First of all that is horrible! You need to report your neighbors. They shouldnt be doing that....but why are they? I have read that some people do that because they are annoyed with the dogs. Make sure your dogs are staying in your yard and try to fix any other reason they are poisoning them. Training them to only eat from your hand may take awhile so try those suggestions. I wish you best of luck in training them. Go to the library they should have plenty of books on training.

Report them

As regards intentional dog poisoning, the Police will initiate investigation upon receipt of such reports. Investigative
actions include collecting evidence at the scene, locating eyewitnesses and making other enquiries that may reveal useful clues. Should there be evidence to suggest that any person has deliberately left rodenticides or other poisons to poison dogs, the Police will arrest and charge the person with the offence of "destroying or damaging property" under the Crimes Ordinance (Cap. 200).

I use to have a dog that would only eat from my hand ... never trained him to do so but ... I to as well after my German Shepherd died of old age .. have had the same problem with someone poisoning our dogs that have come after ... had a neighbor warn me that was what was going on .. I as well wanted to find out just who my neighbor would not tell me was doing such a thing ... takes a really weird o to do such a thing ...or someone who wants to creep around your yard with out you knowing .. in any case if I were you save your money up and get four cameras installed ... that is what I had to do ... police and animal welfare will only tell you ...u have to have proof... in my case it was my next door neighbor. ...Mr pillar of the community. ... police still did nothing ... but I got his number ... and he no longer jumps my fence at night and walks about my yard...

youre dogs are going to eat food reguardless of who's hand its coming from. youre neighbors should not be poisoning your dogs though. do you have proof? if so call your local ASPCA, if nothing can be done about your neighbors by law, maybe it will scare them into stopping! and are your dogs being kept in your yard? Try fencing your yard in, or maybe getting something called an invisible fence. Most of the time it will keep your dogs from running out of your yard and will keep your neighbors ahppy as well! if your dogs arent getting out and youre neighbors continue to commit this crime i would def do something about it asap. for your dogs sake and yours!

You can't. If a dog is offered food, he'll take it. You need to keep your dogs in YOUR yard, its your responsibility by law. If your neighbor is coming into YOUR yard and doing this, you need to catch proof on video and have him arrested. Either way, if you are SURE it is poison (the vet autopsy showed so, etc) you need to keep Vitamin K on hand to give once digested, or Hydrogen peroxide if you are WATCHING your dog digest this food to give him immediately afterwards to encourage vomiting. However, the mojority of the time, owners THINK their dogs are ebing poisoned because of their symptoms, but it hardly EVER is. If you want to know the most COMMON reasons for these symtoms if you dont know for SURE its being poisoned, email me for full descriptions and treatments.

That's horrible. Maybe you should sue them. Dogs will eat anything. Unless you are there when your neighbor feeds your dog, it will be very hard to train them not to eat from them and only you.

I suggest keeping your dog inside while you are away.

What is causing them to poison them? Do they bark? Maybe ask your neighbors how your dogs act while you are away so you can correct the problem so they have no reason to kill your animals......

I have a terrible fear that people will do that to my dog too.

For your pets sake don't get anymore dogs and CALL THE COPS! My goodness, keep them where the neighbors do not have access to them and if you don't call the cops start looking for a new home or try and find the poor dogs a new home.

This is a time to call to the police for poisoning your dogs.

Dogs - even well-trained dogs - will accept tempting morsels from strangers. so keep your dogs safely penned away from your neighbor.

Press charges.
