Depending on which lane you are driving, 5 mph above the speed limit is bit slow on the fast line. Especially in CA.
Most driver thinks that the far left lane, passing lane, is the lane drivers can cruise on, this is not true.
The passing lane is named passing lane for a reason, and drivers thinks that as long as they drive at speed limit or a little bit faster than speed limit, it is OK.
Some people have places to go. If you feel everyone is passing you when driving 5 mph faster than limit, move over one lane to your right, and continue to do so until you are at speed similar to your vehicle.
By doing this, you don't have to feel intimidated and you will be a curtious driver.
Good Luck.

My experience is that people do this, but that does NOT make you speed. In fact, it is the contrary: the fact that you give in and speed up is the reason people tailgate you. If tailgaiting people makes them speed up, the of course the idiot "racers" on the highway are going to do this! Sounds to me like you're looking for an excuse to speed up, but two wrongs don't make a right. Slow down and obey the traffic signs, and these people will have to learn to drive right... or else they'll be the ones in a wreck or getting a ticket.

i have had them bump me ,and shout out the window to go on,and me doing the speed limit, our speed limit on the road we live on is 35,and they drive 55 all the time,i have actually felt them bump my car ,it doesn't do any good to report it to the cops either, they are ,limited in numbers and cant get to every part of town they need to be in,its bad around here with teen-age drivers though, they get their license, and the they own the road, its dangerous where we live though everyone,s in a hurry all the time,me i drive the speed limit and sometimes over ,but that isn't fast enough ,good luck ,and be careful.

Most people these days are rude drivers. What I hate is being caught up in a race between 2 drivers; I'm sure I'm going to get clipped by one of those fools doing 90+mph and die a horrible death.
