When you talk about a loving God and the concept of Hell, Hitler shows up as this great example of why it's "necessary."

So come on! If there's no hell... if all that happens when we die is that we're just dead, does that make your life less worth living because you'll end up just like Hitler?!

If you think this is a stupid question....
Think about why someone would say that the reason Hell is "necessary" is because of Hitler.

Now don't go ignoring the scenario of my question: If there's no Hell for Hitler, there's no Heaven either! NOW think about it!

Well, PBS, if he wasn't dead then, he's surely dead by now! But, you ought to ask your own question about THAT!

There is a hell but not one that have in mind. When men die there souls do exist again until the second coming of Christ. At the time all those who have die in Christ shall be raised from the dead and send to Heaven and does alive will meet Jesus in air. However does who are not in Christ will die. Then Satan will be left alone on the Earth for 1000 years. At the end of the 1000 years the Kingdom of Heaven will come to earth and all the dead shall be resurected. At the time Satan will decieved everyone to attack the city of God. Then fire from the Heavens shall rain upon the Earth and burn all including Satan, as long until they have paid every penny back. Of course Satan will burn the longnest and will be the last to eternally punished. After that there will be no more sin in the universe. Trust me Hitler and all the rest of the people of this world will be judge according to thei works. If any one disagrees or does not understand email me.

It does not diminish my life a bit to not believe in hell. It makes it much better to not live my life in fear of the wrathful god flinging terrified souls into a pit of fire and monsters to suffer forever. Hitler is always thrown up an example for the necessity of eternal punishment, but he is an extreme example of sin. If you accept the concept of hell, that means that for every Hitler in hell, there are also billions of good hearted people that made mistakes in life also in hell. They are honest, caring people guilty of sins like envy, impure thoughts, occasional pride, or missing mass once in a while. Should all of those people be tortured and burned forever just so Hitler can get an eternal punishment?

Doesn't deminish my life in the slightest. First, it's not a contest. I'm not striving to get a better afterlife than other people. Second, I try to live ethically because it is the right thing to do, not because of the threat of cosmic punishment (or promise of cosmic reward). Third, my life doesn't get better the more that bad people are punished. The two facts just aren't connected. In fact, is someone is dead, I don't really care about them getting punished.

I see punishment such as incarceration as something to keep dangerous people from hurting society or to rehabilitate criminals so they are no longer dangerous. Punishing people just for the glee of seeing them punished is vindictive. Hitler needed to be stopped. Death stops people rather well. End of story.

No, actually, it doesn't. If you believe in eternal life for those that are good, then the cessation of life is more than enough punishment for Hitler, or anyone else that is evil. If you are actually good, then you should not need to see others suffer, you should be happy to achieve eternal paradise for you and those others that are good. So I don't see hell as a necessity at all. For the most part, I believe it is a symbol of the consequences of evil, and probably does not exist in any real form at all. Even if it exists, whether or not others, Hitler included, are sent there is none of my concern. My purpose in life is to do good, not to worry about the fate of evil.

Rather than answering this question about hell, I feel like commenting: That actually, little evidence is shown of the fact that hitler really did killed himself. couple of shots in private, and two bodies burned and even when there was a camera present nobody showed their faces. I don't know, that puzzles me.

There are no degrees of sin. A liar is just as guilty as Hitler. An adulteress, a thief, a man who covets his neighbors wife is just as guilty. We all are under the same penalty for sin, until we come to reality of Christ. Never consider yourself better than Hitler in this respect. The wages of sin--all sin--is death!

Hitler and the group around him were very profound and very deeply evil men who were the medium for the power of the anti-Christ which has worked and full filled its purpose here on this earth and are sealed down to their own domain as they uphold the matter aspect of the planet. These are lost souls who must work out their own karma over many eons of pain and suffering before they can evolve any further in this solar system.

Funny - I thought HItler was a perfect example of why a loving god isnt necessary - or real for that matter...

No, it does not diminish my life or make it worthless.

Nope. My life is a product of numerous ongoing chemical reactions. The fact that I will die, just like Hitler, does not make my life worth less. It is reality.

If you focus on the lives of other people and death, does that diminish your life? The fact that we all die eventually should make you feel like life is worth living. It is all we have so we should make the best of it.
