for a little perspective heres a scenario:
An asteroid the size of two football fields, even if stony in nature, is another story. It carves a crater in New Jersey that's 2 miles wide (3.4 kilometers). The resulting earthquake is magnitude 6.4, enough to frighten the pants off New York City emergency planners.

Where have all the asteroids gone??? Why doesnt the bible mention this frequent calamity? Have asteroids disappeared like miracles?

there are several groups that claim the earth is 5-6k yrs old. 7th day adventists and many fundamentalist groups. Read the NPS website on the grand canyon there is no mention of its age because of these people. This isnt an attack on rational christians who realize that the literal interpretation of the Bible is not true.

You have it wrong on many accounts. The Earth is 6000 years old, all carbon dating is a lie, the agenda of atheists working to destroy religion. There is no proof that meteorites have ever landed here, this is no more than Satan at work decieving you. Now, get with the program and please NEVER again try to use logic with religion..it just doesn't work. AS far as Asteroids...this is no more than the Global Warming "threat" that isn't real. GW Bush told me that Global Warming is the result of Al Gore's hot air. My president would never lie...

It might just mean that the earth has been hit way before man got here or way before man have ever started writing down stuff which we now call as history.

And who ever said that the earth is 5,000 years old? Did you have personal knowledge that the bible has said this? Have you even read the entire bible? Or are you alluding to another miracle as well?

God built the universe old.

Those craters are not impact sites, God jut built them to look like they are.

God has provided tons of evidence to prove that he is not real.

God is ROTFLHAO at all of us down here trying to work out how the universe originated, when it is all faked by God.

God has a really immature sense of humor. But is better to have him laughing at us compared to his fallback of smiting us.

Wow, Sophie. Good job. You just ignored everything in the question.

And, good job, questioner. Let's keep trying until they're convinced.

I think that Earth is much younger than scientists think. Science is flawed.
