Dogs are pack animals and need to be with people. IMO if your dog can't be inside with you, you shouldn't have a dog.

You got a cute little puppy, now she is 9 months old and you want to leave her in the yard? Why bother have a dog if you're just going to toss her in the yard?
For starters, she's still a puppy. It's obvious she doesn't want to be left outside. You chose a dog, my guess is you've had her for probably 7 months. Has the cuteness has worn off?
Go ahead, leave her outside! The best thing that could happen is someone might steal her and give her a real home where she can be an actual part of the family.

Bring the dog inside. I don't know why you would need to leave her outside at night anyway. Lots of mosquito's that carry lots of diseases would be the health concern. Your dog is barking because she is protesting, she is lonely and wants to be part of the family that you shunned her from. If you don't want to be a part of the dogs family then give her up. Hopefully you spend time with her during day. If both of you work full time then when do you spend time with her? You would bark too if you were shut out from who you loved the most. Dogs give unconditional love and need to be part of the pack, the family is the pack. Separating a dog from the pack makes the dog feel as though she has done something wrong and she doesn't understand what. Rethink your situation and hopefully you will bring your dog inside at night so she can be with you and you will be a happy pack family and your neighbors will happier too!

I agree that the dog should be inside. Wouldn't you bark too if you were suddenly put in the back yard instead of being with your family.
There is a very high percentage of dogs that are given up to shelters within the first year of their lives. They start out as cute little puppies, but their human family doesn't realize that a pet is a long-term commitment. When the cute puppy is no long so cute, they put it outside.

You might try putting her in a crate at night in the house for a while and then start leaving her outside for a while during the day and gradually introduce her to staying outside. Another suggestion is to take her for a run before bed. this will wear her out and she will be glad to rest then give her a big supper and leave her alone. she will be tired and full and might go to sleep better. There is no easy way to get her used to it. If you let her bark it will probably take a week to ten days for her to get used to it. Have you tried explaining to your neighbors that you are training her to stay outside and that she will be used to it within two weeks? Another idea is get a shock collar for her and only put it on her at night when she barks for no reason. They make a coller will spray her in the face and not shock her. Good luck!!

Boy thats a hard one, and really all your fault. the dog has become accustomed to being inside and now all of a sudden you wanna put her out,no wonder she barks. she knows by now you will give in and bring her inside. Maybve you could talk to the neighbors ask them to please baer with it for a few days. then dont give her any attention when she barks . animals are alot like children, the ones that fall down kicking and screaming in stores. once the dof figures out nobody is coming and theres no attention to be gained shell stop. If the neighbors wont cooperate maybe you or your husband can take turns sleeping outside and letr the dog stay in, Im just kidding, maybe. lol good luck to ya!

First of all, your dog has spent the whole of her short life in your home with you, and now you have evicted her. When you evicted her, you deprived her of her family. First mistake. Second, when you placed your dog outside, you automatically gave her the job of home protector. She will wake up at all hours of the night when she hears strange noises, and will bark to scare away whatever it is. Second mistake.
Third, if I was your neighbor, I would complain, too. Just because you "decided" your dog was going to live outside, your neighbor shouldn't have to be subjected to your decision. Third mistake.
I can only suggest two fixes for your dilemma. Bring the dog back in the house where she belongs, or give her up to rescue so she can find a better home.

Why after 9 months have you decided she has to sleep outside? She's not a happy dog bring her back in where she belongs. How would you like to have to sleep in a tent in your garden after having slept in a bed in a house for a few years?

Make sure you have done the basic things: See that your dog has food and water, and a comfortable place to relax where he can't see people or other pets. If necessary, bring him indoors.
More often than not, the problem barker has never learned to be alone. He is accustomed to lavish attention without having to earn it. He thinks he is the center of the world and upon finding himself abandoned he is distraught and he barks, what did you expect?

Ask your vet how you should handle the situation.
Does she have a large dog house outside.
If not, perhaps your parents can buy one at PetCo or PetSmart.
They have nice dog houses and perhaps your dog will enjoy living in his own house with his toys.
Don't forget to make sure your dog has a lot of clean water to drink, morning, noon and in the evening.

dogs really need to be inside with you, they think they are a part of the family, if your family put you outside to sleep you'd be upset and bark too. if you relally don't want a dog she is still a puppy and i am sure you can find a new home for her......... i agree with the neigbors, dogs barking are annoying... and i am a dog lover
