First, we need to recall that the complete name of the tree of the forbidden fruit was the "Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil."
Now we can see that the idea possibly came from the Latin translation of the Book of Genesis:
"Popularly, the fruit has been identified as an apple (perhaps as a Latin pun of 'malus' sounding like 'evil' and 'apple')"
The Latin word "malus" is related both to "evil" and to "apple": in example, in Spanish, a Latin language, the word for "evil" is "malo."
---
Additionally:
"Judaism teaches that the fruit may have been either grape, fig, wheat, or citron. In recent years, some researchers are supporting the fact that the forbidden fruit is actually a pomegranate, from the supposed location of the Garden of Eden. However, as man was given permission to eat all the fruits of the garden, it has been proposed that the forbidden fruit was animal flesh, since this act introduced death into the Garden and, more importantly, breaks the second commandment given to Adam and Eve in the Book of Genesis, that is, to be vegetarian."

The forbidden fruit is not an apple. The Apple is the sex organ of the Woman (Eve) The Bible Say Adam ate of the fruit of the Tree of Life ( The Tree of life is the woman's Body and Adam ate of the Fruit the part of the woman's Body that bears fruit is Her Virgina and that was for bidden to eat of the woman body and this is where the sinful state of man came to being) An apple Tree bears fruit to an apple an anpple has no life.
Biblical text is written in Parables. Not all will understand most of what the bible is say cause Most read the Bible as a Big Story Book and it's not the Bible is a guide for us to live life and Revrence God for who he (God) is.

Because it's a Northern European fruit and helped make the characters in the bible seem more Caucasian. The apple was already sacred in northern Europe because cut one way it the seeds make a natural pentacle and cut the other the seeds look like a vagina.
If such a fruit existed it was probably the fig since figs were one of the first cultivated plants if not the first. The bible is after all the history of humanity since the end of the ice age as seen through the eyes of superstitious primitives.
Blessed Be!

That rumor was once began through the early Florida Orange Juice Company. Fearing that men and women could importance apple juice above orange juice, enterprise sellers unfold the phrase approximately the "forbidden fruit" was once an apple. Hence, you spot that the income of orange juice some distance outweighs that of apple juice amongst bible believers. Okay, k - it is simply as legitimate as the opposite feedback. ;-)

It never actually says anywhere in the bible that it is an apple, just a fruit. I think that people generalize it as a common fruit, such as an apple, to make it easier for younger kids to grasp the concept and understand it.

if that's the case, evangelist above me, where did you come up with your interpretation of this parable? The fruit was a vagina? What?????? So the devil gave eve her vagina and eve then ate her vagina and then let adam eat her up too? What???? How is it that people come up with the most stupid ideas, esp when it comes to tne bible and other people eat it up like it's gospel? If it's a parable then you don't know exactly what that means and your translation is even lamer than the assumption that the story was meant literally.
PS: According to your translation, sex is a sin and because eve let adam have sex with her, all women will be punished with the labor pains of child birth. When will people start applying some intelligence when it comes to something like religion that they base their whole life on? It beats me

It was a legend.
That's why the lump on a man's throat is called his "Adam's Apple"... it alludes to the 'apple' that Adam ate in the garden, that got stuck in his throat to remind him that he had transgressed the law of God.
