There is no "BEST" a.e.d (anti epileptic drug). Each person and their system varies, as do their seizures. It would be like asking, "what's the best vegetable?"

It depends on the type of seizure being treated. I know that, in 34 years, I've taken: dilantin, mysoline, tegretol, tegretol XR, keppra, and trileptal. None of them, either in monotherapy or in combination, controlled my seizures. The only therapy that worked for me was a lobectomy. It stopped my seizures -- today's day 205 without a seizure.

Depends on your particular case.. I do know that Dilantin is a popular seizure medication.

Although there are special diets and herbal remedies for treating them I would recommend seeing a naturopath rather than posting to a forum. Once you have recommended foods you could post for good recipe ideas but without knowing your specific concerns it would be foo hearty to attempt to provide advice here. Good Luck!
