I just got a female kitten and she isn't ready to mate yet. But my male cat who is about 1 years old is ready. He always letting out secretion on her back when he humps her. He holds her head in his mouth and holds her down. This is funny to me but it also confuses me because I feel like I can't do anything about it. He gets angry when I touch him during his approach with her and she fights him off. What should I do???

fix the female because then she won't be putting off scents that she is ready and maybe the male won't be attracted anymore

Neuter the male cat first. Or if you are planning to be a breeder, keep the two seperated (except under supervision) until the female is old enough to breed. If you are an average pet owner, please spay the kitten when she is old enough. Both of my mutts are neutered, and cats breed a lot faster than dogs!

Neuter him and spay her!! Many more issues other than unwanted kittens arrise from male and female cats being un altered. Males will roam and spray and can get testicular infections (un-nuetered males are also more liklely to get heartworms) females will go in heat and drive you crazy, and tehy get get infected uterus's. Call you veterinarian and schedule appts for both of them. If you can;t afford both, then do the male. It is very important to have domestic pets nuetered and spayed, to save unwanted kittens and protect your animals health.
It is also dangerous if thier "funny" mating habits become rough, and one of them could get hurt.

You should keep your kitten in locked room away from the other cat until its ready to mate. If you don't feel comfortable doing that keep one cat busy so its not near each other
