Because only white people had the money to have their pictures taken in those days. Digital cameras were not cheap at all 2000 years ago.

You should see Jesus depicted as a middle eastern but he is usually depicted as a white male with brown hair. This is because of the European artists of the time.

God is depicted as a large, white man with white hair and white beard because his image was stolen from Zeus, one of the gods of Greek mythology.

Jesus was a Jew born in the mid-east. He probably didn't look like the bearded white lady you see in most paintings.
