Hi Sand,

1) We grieve the Holy Spirit by resisting His will and doing our own will.
2) The day of redemption obviously there isn't the day you were saved but the First Resurection.
3)I think the Holy Spirit transforms us over time to be conformed into the image of Jesus, but I think the "sealing of the Spirit" happens the minute we are saved. I think at that moment we become a child of God that God seals us somehow that we can't understand. I think that seal is manifested by the change in us.

sandy this is an excellent question.. one that I have a particular appreciation for..
I have been experiencing an understanding that has impacted every aspect of my spiritual life. That is the spiritual discernment that comes from the HOLY SPIRIT. The last 2 years has brought me thru the following... understanding how to interpret prophecy... why it is not literal...why the vast majority of religions do not look at the spiritual context of prophecy...why the reformers DID DO SO, and started the reformation.. the rcc reply to the reformation was a counter reformation based on literal interpretations of prophecy...and if we go to THE WORD OF GOD, we see a spiritual meaning to all that HE holds dear.. for example, the sacrificial lamb that was used in the sanctuary was symbolic of CHRIST.. the sanctuary itself is intended to teach us about who GOD is, and HIS character.. the 10 commandments do the same thing in that they explain to us who GOD really is..Jesus spoke to Nicodemus on a spiritual level immediately, and then had to explain it to him so he could try to understand..and when the HOLY SPIRIT came upon the disciples, most people talk about the gift of interpretation that was manifested, but what most don't talk about is the testimony that converted over 3000 people that day.The HOLY SPIRIT gave them understanding and they testified as witnesses do to the life of JESUS. AND IF YOU TAKE ALL THE GREAT STORIES OF THE BIBLE that we love, the truth in them is understood only thru the HOLY SPIRIT.. example? how many times do we see people here who cannot get the truth when it is so plain to us? In conclusion I would like to offer one reason why.. in warfare , in order to protect your communication you would use a code. In SPIRITUAL warfare, GOD can make HIS TRUTH understood only thru the presence of the HOLY SPIRIT. and we know satan doesn't have it..but we can if we humble ourselves before the LORD.. so to geieve the HOLY SPIRIT is to refuse to hear the real meanings of GOD'S TRUTH. It separates us from GOD on a spiritual level..I would consider the day of redemption the SECOND COMING OF CHRIST. The sealing of the SPIRIT to me is when we are anointed with the SPIRIT OF GOD. It is what I was discussing earlier..

I think this means do not cause the holy spirt grief

grief
–noun 1. keen mental suffering or distress over affliction or loss; sharp sorrow; painful regret.
[Origin: 1175–1225; ME gref, grief < AF gref; see "grieve"]

In other words, one should not commit sins that offend the holy spirit within us. The sealing of the holy spirit takes place over one's lifetime resulting from recieving informations from the scriptures and also resulting from sacrifices made to the Lord.

As it is said in scripture, within us exists from birth the seed of the Lord. In order to grow that seed into full God conciousness, one must learn from the scriptures and accept God as benevolent etc, as well as renouncing selfish acts and undertaking selfless one's. Those who follow such advice are like the seed that falls on tilled ground. Some people start in such effort, but are choked by life's problems, as plants are choked by weeds. Others dismiss such advice straight off, like the seed that falls on stone.

Once the seed of the soul has grown into full God conciousness (and become an indestructible soul), then one can finally develope full relationship with the holy spirit.

re·demp·tion
–noun 1. an act of redeeming or the state of being redeemed.
2. deliverance; rescue.
3. Theology. deliverance from sin; salvation.
4. atonement for guilt.

The day of redemption is the day in which the soul is finally liberated (rescued, redeemed) from the body of flesh, and allowed to enter the kingdom of God. Upon death, one must have a mature spirit soul to enter the kingdom of heaven, those who do not must be further purified.
