Mine is currently asleep next to me - no tail movement. Usually when his tail is moving, he is pretending to be asleep or relaxing but awake.

perchance she is cat-sleeping and not incredibly asleep. She may well be asleep yet dreaming. She may well be showing her anger, annoyance, contentment - almost something by using wagging it. Cats wag their tails for many reasons and as they are mysterious creatures, we human beings in basic terms summise to correctly known what it and rather some different behaviours of theirs mean. the authentic answer is who's attentive to. it incredibly is that she is an somewhat pleased cat or that it incredibly is a unusual character trait of hers.

I've heard it jokingly said that cats have two brains. one for the body and one just for the tail. if the cat is really asleep and the tail is moving, maybe it's dreaming. dogs move, like people, when they dream. I would imagine cats do, too.

If their tails are swinging or 'wagging', they are most likley not asleep at all. They may have their eyes closed, but they are probly not asleep. My cat does this when i start teasing him while he is sleeping or resting. His eyes may open into thin slits, and if you tease him enough, he will attack. It's actually quite fun, and entertaining. But they are not asleep.

Dogs do, I've never seen a cat do it though...their tails are always curled up tight.

Not usually. They flap their tails when they're emotional or overstimulated.
