Manco company makes rubber placemats and shelf liners the material makes them non-slip.. You can tape them to the area rugs in the corners and cut them to fit the legs of your furniture and glue them to the feet.. That should make them non skid... For the area rugs Manco sells the same material all though more expensive to lay under rugs...Should be able to find at Walmart.. Look for the duck logo... Good luck...

At Lowes, a special kind of netting is sold with area rugs that keeps them from sliding on any surface, its generally called a rug pad. It won't damage your floor either. Put that down underneath your rugs to prevent them from sliding.
On furniture, similar pads are made for the legs. Check out the sources below. Both can be found at Lowes or any hardware store. Good Luck.

Hi Miss G, hope this helps,
There are small rubber placemats, or it also comes in a roll. You can buy it at Wal -Mart, Camping World etc and cut them to any size you want to fit under the legs or feet of your furniture. We buy it in a roll, to put on table tops in the motor homes so things won't move.

Glue them to the floor..... or if you don't want to do that, i think you can buy a rubbery material which will stop them sliding, made espeacially for that job, which you stick underneath the furniture.

If you have........ wood floor you should change it and get carpet because carpet is stronger and wood floor does do sliding.
Even dough the carpet brings more dirt you don't want your chairs to be sliding all over the place that's why i get carpet because we have vacum cleaners to have in the future that we will have until we die 2000 and up
so change the wood floor into carpet
