Does anyone have a pet duck that would be willing to give me some info? And does anyone know a way to diaper a duck that doesn't cost 30 dollars?

I have had a duck in the past. I raised him with my chickens, b/c I was told they don't like to be alone. I found that the duck needed water to wash down his food. He would always make a mess of the water going back and forth between the food and it! Besides that he just cruise around with the hens. One day he just disapeared. I like to think he flew away to find a mate, but I don't know for sure.

On the diaper thing... I would just use a baby diaper from the store. I bought premie size for a small dog and just cut a whole for the tail. I would guess for the duck you biggest issue will be keeping it on. Try wrapping the top with 'vet wrap' for horses. It should stick with our hurting his feathers.

BTW - enjoy him as an indoor animal. Don't worry about what other people think. If you let him out you will probably loss him like I did. If you are willing to keep up on the mess he makes, it is no one elses biz wax!

Ducks are great pets - not good indoor pets - but are great pets. You can raise them from fluffs and they'll be pretty cuddly - and fun to have around.

But they don't make good indoor pets unless you have a dirt-resistant floor. They're not careful about their "plops."

Also, be sure to wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap after playing with Daffy to fend off possible salmonella.
