Promise rings are alright and all but the real thing is better. Just talking about a future togeather is the next best thing. How many kids are you going to have pick out names etc. I think that means more to a women then a ring that is only a promise unless it is the real thing.

i think promise rings are kinda silly. because how is that different than an engagement ring? the only reason that a promise ring would make since to me would be if a guy gave it to a girl to promise he would not have sex with her until they were married. that would be a great reason to give a promise ring!

I think that's pretty ridiculous. Reminds me of high school romances, which usually end up diminishing over time anyway. AND, in my opinion, a "promise ring" cheapens the deal/lessens the "big deal"-ness of actually getting engaged (if it should happen) down the road. What's the big hurry, anyway?
Save your money for college, etc. And don't get so serious so soon.

yeah some guys still buys promise rings for their girls, we girls love it so much, then we tell all our girlfriends that our guys gave us promise rings.

I think the whole thing is stupid. It's a way for 12 year olds to pretend they're engaged and a way for jewelry stores to get money out of little boys.
