They didn't eat an apple ... it was a "forbidden fruit." It doesn't specify what kind. You have Snow White mixed up with Adam and Eve.

They ate the fruit from the tree of th eknowledge of good and evil. It was never stated that this fruit was an apple. Besides, nowhere in the bible or in any other religious text that I can of is there a ban on apples. Leviticus and Deuteronomy sets out all the foods that have been ordained clean an unclean for human consumption in the Christian tradition. Other religious books also have their guide. Pick one according to you religion and that will be a better guide to what to eat if you want some religious guidance. Note that even among these groups there is controversy as to what exactly is allowed. The wiki link is a good intro to the topic.

Yes I do believe in the historicity of Adam and Eve.

It says fruit and it's from a tree it does NOT say they ate an apple.

Good news everyone!

As the old saying goes "An apple a day keeps the doctor away."

This is good news especially for me, because I eat apple sauce with every meal, as apples are too hard for my gums to bite into.

It wasn't an apple it was fruit from the tree of knowlege of good and evil. The apple gets a bumb wrap because some painter depicted an apple as the fruit being eaten.

Eve didn't eat an apple that caused her to sin. And making fun of God and his word....well lets just say....people that do, are playing a very dangerous game!
