am from Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia... and we are well known world wide for our sheep herders.. one Risto Steffov is renown for carrying sheep on his back up steep mountian for 20 minutes without "glitsa" sheppards cane... I think this is world record.. which other country can do that!!! Only kazakhestan national herders can compete with us sometimes... no one else

My friend from military service was from erzincan and he told me he could manage up to 200 sheep without a need for a stick and a dog. He apparently could communicate with the sheep. He is the best shepherd that I know personally.

i've got seen Germans herd with the two showline and dealing line canines. A canines does not want a frustrating temperament for herding. yet countless the great cumbersome roach backed practice canines can no longer meet the actual calls for of the interest. The GSD's unique objective became to excel at each and everything, to no longer herd sheep. certainly i've got faith their objective became extra for cover rigidity and police than herding (hence why the GSD's founder created Schutzhund as a breeding device to objective the suitability of the working canines that the GSD is meant to be). Border Collies can't be whilst in comparison with GSDs, that's a thoroughly diverse variety of herder. maximum herding trials are geared for the BC/Aussie/farm animals canines kind of up close and private herding. no longer open variety continental type herding that GSDs, and Rottweilers are meant to do. the actual GSD is the jack of ALL trades and the grasp of none. he isn't the quickest, or maximum efficient, or smartest, or the suitable police canines...yet he ranks relatively in ALL of those aspects making him the suitable all around canines for any objective. Versatility is top right here. The practice lines do no longer continuously produce canines able to being Police provider canines. the actual GSD is the working line GSD, the different "lines" are the wannabe cousins and inlaws to the GSD.

OK, we can see you're a fake FYROM-ian. You think this will stop them from spreading propaganda. Not really.
And others are not helping, cos everybody knows there are lots of sheep and goat herders in Turkey. In Albania, also. I saw them in all these places.

Aren't sheep herders supposed to "herd" sheep, not carry them?

Well, pal, according to the documentaries I have watched, people in Britain and US make COMPETITIONS about this, with the help of sheepherder dogs.

These days Anatolian Akbash sheepherder dogs are rising to fame as good herders, too.

So, maybe it isn't a very good idea to claim something without the support of international evidence, where, also, qualifications vary from place to place . Clearly Steffov is a very strong man, but the "best" sheepherder? I doubt it.
