I was playing fetch with my 4 month old American yellow lab in the yard when I threw the ball and it went under my car. My pup sped after the ball dashing under the car, and when she came out a black streak was down her back. She had probably rubbed against the exhaust pipe or something under the car that had some oil grease or auto-sludge, and now the mark wont come off. She is a very light colored lab, with a creamish colored coat, its kinda whitish. But its getting darker as she ages. So anyways, this black streak doesnt come out with water, of course this happened only an hour or so after I bathed her :). If u guys know how to get this stuff off that'd b great, water doesnt get it out. Her fur doesnt feel greasy but it sure did leave a mark. Thanks...

Dawn dishwashing liquid is what they use to wash animals that have been in oil slicks, etc.

Dawn dish soap! Thats what they use to wash the animals and birds that are covered with oil near oil spills. It was even shown in a Dawn dish soap commercial.
I also heard that a vet say on the Oprah show that Dawn should be included in a first aid kit for dogs while travling on vacation, incase an accident happends that involves oil spills.

My dogs do this all the time. We have so many cars in our yard and they just like to lay under them and relax-therefore they get grease stains on them (which really bothers me!)

Anyway, put him in the tub and scrub him down with doggy shampoo and then put some Dawn dish soap where the grease mark is and scrub it in. This should help to get the stain out.

The best greas cutter is Dawn dishwashing liquid. It is even used as hand washer in many auto mechanic shops. If your dog has long hair and you are very careful, you could also very carefully try some acetone on a cloth. The acetone evaporates very quickly. If you use it, hold the hair away from the body until it dries (a few seconds). Do not use around eyes, etc. BTW, acetone is also sold as fingernail polish remover.

At least you realized that it was spelled wrong lol. I would try using a little dawn dish soap it works really good on grease. It's what they use on animals after oil spills. Use as little as possible as it may dry out your puppy's skin.

Dawn Dish Detergent. Warm water and elbow grease.

The USDA uses this to clean shore birds that get oil-soaked from spills.

Blue Dawn. Cuts the grease and is not harmful to the puppy.

Have you tried dishsoap? Like dawn? The aspca uses dishsoap to get oil off of the wildlife affected by oil spills.
Or fast orange(automotive store) my hubby uses to get grease off his hands.

Hope that helps.
