You can use lemon juice and go out into the sun for some very subtle hi-lighting. You take the juice of a lemon and a little bit of water.. mix well and comb through your hair. It will take a bit of time but you will notice the difference ..
There are also some new shampoos out now that will enhance your hair color and bring out the shine.. check them out!
How about using the temporary kind of hi-light kits they sell, those do not use bleach and wash out after a few shampoos.
Next time you go to a pharmacy with a beautician, ask her about the different kinds of hair treatments.. there are many on the market now that do not use bleach and you will probably find what you need with her help..
Good Luck!!!

Naturally Lightening Dishwater Blonde Hair
Dishwater blonde is a phrase used to describe blonde hair that isn’t entirely blonde. Dishwater blonde hair has varying shades of darker and lighter blonde. People who consider their hair dishwater blonde can make their blonde hair evenly blonde and beautifully highlighted with a natural home remedy. This home remedy will make already blonde hair lighter, shinier, and more attractive without the use of strong chemicals, peroxide, or damaging bleach.
Lemon juice is a well-known hair lightener that is natural and effective, but the acid in lemon juice can be very hard on the skin and hair. If you want to lighten dishwater blonde hair with lemon juice, rinse the hair daily with a tablespoon of lemon juice mixed with a gallon of warm water until the desired color is achieved. Although this hair lightening method will take time, it is effective, and it isn’t as damaging as full-strength lemon juice or other hair lightening methods.

Sorry but it won't happen. There just isn't a way. The sun will lighten your hair a slight bit but not enough for you to be happy with the change. YOu can put lemon juice and sit in the sun but it may or may not work depending on your hair. Why dont you just go get some hi lights?

Put about 1/4 cup of lemon juice in your hair. Then go sit in the sun for a couple of hours. The natural acids in the lemon juice will lighten your hair.

Get a product called "Sun-In". It's a spray that makes your hair more succeptible to the sunlight. You have to spray it all over your hair and sit in the direct sun. It really works. My hair is light brown, and I used it a couple summers ago and my hair was practically BLONDE! It was amazing. I highly recommend it! I got mine at Walmart, so try there.

Go out in the sun for longer, as this naturally makes your hair lighter. But be sure to put suncream on too so you don't get burned!
