raw chicken rots rather quickly....if it smells bad you should definately throw it out....as my gram used to say...when in doubt throw it out....

If it starts smelling then you need to trash it.
If the chicken was competely fresh when it was frozen it can last 2, maybe 3 days in the fridge while thawing, but you really shouldn't chance it and you should cook it within the first 24 hours.

If it smells, remove it's nose!
All kidding aside...I chicken should be fine for two to three days in the fridge if it was fine when it was frozen. If it had been in the fridge for two to three days before freezing it's probalby not good. And, if it smells bad, it is bad! Toss it away!

Any time there is a strange odor on any meat DO NOT EAT.........If the chicken was taken from the freezer 2 days ago and thawed in the frig..It still should be good......
