If your job is not politically based, you can simply avoid political conversation with your coworkers. Tell them you will agree to disagree. You can appreciate that they feel passionately for certain causes and you do as well. you just feel differently about those causes. And that's OK...
If that doesn't work out when the subject turns political, turn the topic back to work related subjects. That is why you all are there after all....
Being able to have different political views and discuss them openly in this country is one of the things we need to preserve. We just may not need to discuss them at work.

Above all keep your cool and no matter how tempting don't bring up the topics yourself.

It sounds like you are being consumed by the nonsense, that comes with the job. If it is negative management, now is the time to get out while you are still young, before you end up like them or worse get an ulcer. Sometimes there is nothing you can do . If you can speak to management then sit down with them and let them know how you feel, but be ready for nothing.

Best to be very diplomatic and win people's hearts through whats important to that person. i.e. be personal. Do not give in to negativity by becoming like those who are negative. Steer clear of those people who make you feel even more negative about your work environment to the point where you fight their battles for them. Most importantly, be positive and enthusiastic even if it is for the one simple fact that secretly you are and will keep looking for a job with a better psychological environment. Trust me you will find it if you persevere. Good luck!

I don't know much about your job enviroment. If you must work closely with others or not. Try to avoid them if possible. If not , no job on earth is worth your mental health. You should look for a new job if things don't get better. In the mean time, mind your own business and don't offer to much information to feed the fire.Good luck...

Here are your options:

1. Ignore it and speak with these people only when necessary.

2. Have a chat with HR

3. Assess your reasons for accepting the job in the first place, and look for other job opportunities.

Maybe you should change jobs. It sounds as if you don't respect your workplace or your coworkers. Your job will only be as good as your attitude. Only you can make a change of venue or attitude.

It happens almost everywhere unless you work for yourself.

remember.....the grass is always greener now get back to work and stay neutral, don't get caught up in gossip and don't take sides with people bitching at each other.

Ummm, it's quite simple actually. Find a new job. By staying there, you are choosing to be in that environment. So it's nobody's fault but your own.

Go to youre higher up and bring it to light if it isnt already, if they don't do anything, then go above them. i guarantee if high level management knew about it, they would change things..assuming you are big business.
