I am a Christian--a follower of Jesus Christ, and I don't believe it is okay to make snide remarks. Many who call themselves "Christians" are not really Christians at all. Others are very young in their faith and still have a long way to go in allowing the Holy Spirit to produce his fruit in their lives: love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control. Also, believers are sinners (like everyone else) and sometimes fall into doing something they should not in spite of the work of God in their lives. We don't become perfect the moment we come to believe, but God does work in our lives over time to gradually begin working out the "kinks." Some of those writing the snide remarks, will have regrets about it in the future looking back.

Well if they were truly christians they wouldn't do that. I don't ask anyone to agree with me just merely state my beliefs and if you don't agree no skin off my back. When they get offended its only because they don't have enough faith in their own religion or non religion to be sure they have the right answer. It gives them doubt and doubt scares people. BTW you are stereotyping all christians as being a certain way and in doing so helping spread more hate.

I totally agree with you. The problem is Christians are sinful human beings just like anyone else. They make just as many mistakes, if not more, than others. Christians get excited to share the great word of God, they get carried away. People try to defend their beliefs themselves, instead of letting God do the work.
The bible tells Christians to not judge in Romans 3 and Matthew 5-7

Generalize much? I'm a Christian, and I don't feel the need to ridicule other people's religious beliefs. I can sit down and discuss why I believe what I believe with people, then listen with respect to what they have to say about their beliefs.

Maybe that's why I have friends from every belief system you can think of and no belief system at all.

First let me say this......you should phrase your questions..Why do SOME Christians feel it is ok? I am so tired of people saying that ALL Christians are this way because they have encountered a couple of hypocritical people who claim to be a Christian. Is it fair for me to say that ALL white people are racist...NO!! Just because I had a bad encounter with a couple of racist white people doesn't mean that they are ALL racist. Thank God I don't think that way because I wouldn't have the white friends I have today.

Okay...now to your question...Most people who act this way don't really have a true relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I don't care what people say about my beliefs...It actually brings me closer to Him (God). Most "Christians" who become offended are very immature and don't really know who Jesus Christ is and what he stands for. Most people throw the "I am a Christian" phrase very loosely and they don't really know what it takes to be a REAL CHRISTIAN!!

I'm a Christian, and I don't ridicule other peoples' beliefs. And I normally couldn't care less about snide remarks regarding mine.

i don't ridicule others beliefs. i love to learn and hear out others opinions and religious beliefs. i don't get offended. i could care less when i get vindictive and hateful statements because of my beliefs in Christ. those who say ugly comments back are the ones who are offended..and on the R&S boards...it's MORE than christians that do that.

i dont think that you should generalize all christians into one category or any othe group for that matter...i dont agree with atheism but i dont think that all atheists are satan worshippers or anyting its just a matter of the individual..maybe ur not meeting the right christians..personally i dont like when Christian ppl persecute ppl of other religions bcuz it makes ppl like you who ignore the fact that everyone Christian, Bhuddist or Muslim is different and does things differently...You cant honestly think that every Christian all 2,449,577,000 of us are exactly alike with the same thoughts and veiws and opinions about other ppl and their religions

Some could care less. And the ones who throw a hissy fit...well most of the time OTHER Christians don't even like them so I don't worry too much. Stupid people just can't help themselves. That's what makes them so stupid.

The reason for that is that every church tells them " this is the truth and everone out there will burn in hell " and they feel every thing the pastor tells them even if its not in the bible is true. they dont take time to reason and see if there wrong in anyway.
