In my opinion the relationship can survive, assuming of course, there are other things to bond over besides drinking. However, it would be awkward for the drinking partner to go out and drink booze while the non-drinking partner sips iced tea. Over time it can put some strain on the relationship, but I should hope that, by itself, it would not be so important as to be fatal.

i will agree that alcohol isn't needed for a good time yet... that's a great thank you to relax rather and experience some down time. specific it rather is not for each individual yet that doesn't mean it rather is not for some. i'm guessing you have felt stress to drink or are conflicted on your values approximately eating that's extremely regular for a school inexperienced persons. in case you may fairly not drink or be below the effect of alcohol then do not, ordinary as that. do not condone people who might % to journey that area of life. My own suggestion is "do not knock it till you attempt it" it rather is not purely a self assurance booster, alcohol carefully is unquestionably very healthful. good luck to you.

Of course.
If the teetotaller doesn't mind that his/her partner drinks, who cares?
However if "very much enjoys partaking in alcoholic beverages," means, "likes to get completely smashed every night," you'll have some problems.

Sure, as long as the drinking isn't excessive. I had to break up with my ex because she was an excessive drinker, and liked to get drunk. On the other hand, I rarely drank, and if I did it was very lightly. But sure, go for it.

Well if the significant other doesn't have a problem with it REALLY then why not. At least the drinker will always have a designated driver

Drinking is no crime. Excessive drinking is a problem, but I think that is something you both can easily solve by talking it out.

In relationships, we must recognize and respect one another's differences. There is nothing wrong with him drinking as long he doesn't become excessive with it. As long you respect him and he does the same, things will be just fine. God Bless.

My relationship is like this and it works very well. My husband doesn't get drunk very often though. He only has one or two drinks per night.
