If you are already legally married then you can already use his surname. You must just inform banks etc and prove your marriage by showing them your marriage cert

On you marriage certificate it shows that you have chosen to change your name. Its a piece of paper you sign immediately after the ceremony.
Then you just send off some paperwork and marriage certificate (to prove your name change and it comes back in the post) to change you name on your passport, driving licence, bills, etc.
Its really very very simple and its done thousands of times a week.
If you have any questions you could either go to the Citizens advice bureau, the governments website or the person who is marrying you two.

My Mum is Italian. She took my Father's surname automatically when they married many years ago. Fact is she could've chosen to, or not to as she wished. You are able to take on any name you wish by 'deed poll'. Visit a solicitor and a small fee will secure your new name. The only proviso is that you are not doing it for the purposes of fraud or deception.

It is automatic unless you wish otherwise. Once you are married you have to register the marriage, and this will legally change your surname

Thats quite interesting. Why did you not take your husbands name when you married him?. We automatically take our husbands name on marriage. Is he your husband or your partner? You can always change your name with your partners consent by deed pole. Hope this has helped.

Once married here you automatically take your husband's name. I know it doesn't happen in Italy but does here.

You change your name. It's probably some simple paperwork to complete.
