Not directly, but any traumatic experience, left unaddressed and without the appropriate healing for the traumatized person, can play a key role related to physical and mental health.
In many ways, a heartbreak is no different than the grief we go through after the death of a loved one. Even if the heartbreak was related to lies, deceit or some kind of abuse on the other person's part, if you loved or cared about that person, the deceit/abuse doesn't erase what was good. It just breaks the trust which can lead to an end of the relationship.
You should know that there are all kinds of support networks, grief & trauma counseling programs, spiritual healing supports, etc, that can be a big support for a person's healing process.
There is unlimited goodness for every one of us in this world. One of the most important factors that lead us to those people/places/things is belief that it is there for us. Losses can be profoundly painful, so much so that we can begin to believe the pain will never go away. The loss sometimes makes no sense when we're still experiencing the grief, and sometimes un-aided, the grief can go on for a very long time.
But, it doesn't have to be that way. We can get thru the feelings and even come out of the grieving process feeling like a better, stronger person. The key is to believe that the good stuff is there for us. Keep Hope Alive!

I dont think u physically die like have a heart attack but I do think a person can die mentally and basically put themselves into a state where they no longer fully live because something in their lives has devistated them to the point of no return. My youngest brother died at 18 in a car accident in 2004 and my mother has no life, no drive, no will to live, its like shes not even here. its sad to say and my family and her friends have tried to help her but... I think she died with him.

Oh yes, indirectly you can. You can become so depressed that you refuse food and do nothing. You literally just waste away. Health problems such as heart attacks and strokes also increase during this vulnerable depression time. Many great artists and romantics have had this happen to them.

It hasn't been proven but I believe your emotions play a major role in our health. So yes, I believe a heart can be damaged by suffering a great loss.

Yeah, if you are depressed enough and stop eating, taking care of yourself or doing self destructive things. Look at anna nicole smith. She totally died of a broken heart because her son died.
by broken heart, I mean inconsolable....not just being sad.

No. People may become depressed when trauma happens in their life, and there can be complications associated with that...but generally it just takes time to get over a failed romance or a personal tragedy.

She waited an prolonged time to have intercourse with Edward and whilst she ultimately did, she could no longer get sufficient. She became married and on her honeymoon! this is tremendously uncomplicated.

High levels of sustained stress can have negative physiological effects. So the answer is yes, especially for those who are already ill.

No, but it can cause unnecessary stress which can lead to problems. You cannot die but you can get really stressed which can lead to pigging out to relieve pain which can lead to gaining weight which can lead to diabetes. Stress can also lead to drinking and/or depression.
