Thanks to everyone for answering.

But it is true that they still require a dr referral for blood tests, but I could go for a pee test or general care, or to urgent care center. I guess my lame PCM won this battle, but if I have an ectopic preg or get sick etc i am suing him for not referring me!! he says he doesn't feel comfortable, and that they would use the same test i could buy at cvs...last time i checked, they don't sell blood tests...anybody know why a doctor wouldn't refer a patient for a simple hcg blood test???!

You can, but you must have a referral from your PCM. Unless you feel that it is an emergency situation. At which time you seek emergency care and must follow up with your PCM so they can put a referral in the system.
I know the Navy requires a positive blood test to confirm the pregnancy. My wife was several weeks along and took the OTC urine tests but could not even make an appointment with the OB/GYN clinic until the pregnancy was confirmed via a blood test.
If you are having issues I would get an OTC urine test and take the results to the medical clinic and explain your symptoms, I would hope that they would help you.

You should be, call the Fort Eustis base operator and get a hold of the patient care/or urgent care and tell them your possible emergency situation. They should be able to take you today.

You need to call your branch of military hospital and wxplain to them where you are located and your situation. If that is what is closest to you. My x was in the airforce and I gave birth at an army hospital. They will send you to the closest place of care that is equipt for your medical needs. Just call

call the number on the back of your tricare card or check online. i would say yes, but don't know for sure.

i wouldn't trust an answer on here simply b/c if you call the ins company and THEY say yes, then you can say "so and so on this date from tricare told me that i could" in case they try to charge you.

take care!

you go through your PCM. wherever your PCM is located..Oceana, Portsmouth, is where you go. you can't just show up at a MTF and get treated if it isn't your primary location.

Only in emergencies can you go without a referral.
