My fiancé and I are getting married in October of this year and we have asked our uncle to perform the ceremony. He agreed, so we need to find out how to get him legally ordained to perform a wedding ceremony in Georgia.

Check out www.universalministries.com
They have the laws according to state, and you can get ordained for free there too. Best wishes!

My fiance's sister and his best frined are getting ordained online through the Progressive Universal Life Church in order to perform our ceremony. I checked with our local authorities (Cook County--Chicago--Illinois), and it's legal here. The PULC's website says they are legal everywhere in the US that they know of except NYC, but I recommend checking with your local authority to be sure the wedding is legal.

There is a website that you can go to to get ordained for free, here it is:

http://www.themonastery.org/

Be careful though if your uncle doesn't end up doing it, try getting your mayor from the town you live in to do it. I hired a person who claimed to be ordained, and he took my money and never sent me a contract and won't give me my money back. So be careful. Tina

One can get 'ordained' online, however it's pretty meaningless. I'm a "Reverend" from an online site, BUT so is my CAT!!!
Best to contact the proper state authorities to see the regulations in your state.

Call your county clerk's office and ask.

Some areas of the country allow your officiant to be ordained online (I think it's the Universalist Life Church, ulc.net). Other areas do not. Call and ask.
