People say Black people are cursed because we are the descendants of Ham who was cursed in the bible.

But if Ham was Black wouldn't his brothers have been Black also? wouldn't that mean Noah was Black?

We know Ham was black because the bible says so. Noah couldn't have been cursed so he must have been white. Sometimes son these things just need a little faith to accept.

Drink the Kool-Aid.

Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

The reason that this has been said is because the people of Ham settled in the land of Egypt (Ps 78:51, 105:23). However this is mere speculation. Nothing in the Bible says what Ham's skin pigment was - and really such questions are unimportant.

We can NOT say that Noah was the progenitor of all mankind, because their wives came from outside the family. Some where in the genetic code of this these three sons and their wives was the make-up for each ethnic group we see today.

Shem, Ham, and Japheth were Noah's sons.

Ham simply means black in egyptian. It doesn't definitely mean that he was black. The color of their skin has nothing to do with the curse. Here is the record of the curse in Genesis:

Gen 9:18 And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan.
Gen 9:19 These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.
Gen 9:20 And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:
Gen 9:21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
Gen 9:22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.
Gen 9:23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.
Gen 9:24 And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.
Gen 9:25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
Gen 9:26 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
Gen 9:27 God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

So you see it was because of Ham's actions that he and his descendants (the Caananites) were cursed. Shem and Japheth did the right thing so they were blessed.

We see this account in Genesis 9, where Ham, the youngest of Noah's sons looked upon his father's drunk nakedness and proceeded to laugh at it and call his two older brothers to observe the situation. Japhet and Shem, who for some reason realized that at that time on the earth Noah was God's deputy authority on this earth and while walking backwards, so as not to see their father's compromised condition, covered his nakedness and shame. Ham was cursed mainly because he touched God's governmental authority in a wrong way by exposing it. Shem and Japhet were blessed because they respected God's government, and covered the failure of the deputy authority and not looking at it.
Noah had failed in the sight of God.. but it was up to God to deal with him.. and Ham had no right to expose and shame his father's failure.
Noah then cursed Ham and his descendants.. canaan and said that they will be servants to his brothers. Shem the forefathers of the Hebrews
One of Ham's descendants was Cush who was the father of Nimrod.. Nimrod was the first type of Antichrist recorded in the bible.
I too am a person of the descendant of Ham. To say that Ham was black may or may not be right. But consider ..its not just the blacks but east indians and most of the minority races who have been servants of others for the ages that have been descendants of Ham. So to specifically say that Ham was black? We do not know.
I am just thankful that today there is no distinction between us now that we are IN CHRIST JESUS.
No Jew nor Greek..No Bond or free ..but all are ONE in Christ Jesus.. HE tore down the walls of division and today we are all the blessed seed of Abraham. Blessed with the Holy Spirit as our portion from God.

nicely, you are able to desire to have confidence Noah's sons have been the ANCESTORS of three diverse 'races' by using genetic pick the flow and style.. human beings are finally descended from a small inhabitants which, we are able to accurately assume, became each and every of an identical 'race'. however the time given in the Bible (somewhat, 4300 years with a splash math) is purely not long adequate for this to happen.

Shem, Ham, and Japeth. But it was one of Ham's sons Put, that was considered to be the father of the Black Africans, though i never heard anything about it having to do with a curse. I only heard that it was because he settled in the region and intermarried with the indigenous peoples and their descendants simply adapted the to the skin color due to their environment.

I haven't been in the mood lately for responding to questions in depth (and have missed quite a few that I would have liked to answer), because I haven't been feeling well due to a couple of broken bones (and, now, an infection). So I'm going to keep this short but not so sweet-- IGNORE WHITE SOCIETY'S BIBLE THUMPERS. Many (maybe most) are full of racist sh1t while pretending to be "Godly", especially since the Bible is so open to interpretation that it has more holes in it than swiss cheese. (What I mean is that there is plenty of "room" for them to "play in". Racists live for what they think are open doors.) Keep this in mind--- White people even burned their OWN for the sake of keeping others' versions of the scriptures quiet. Why would they do such a thing? Perhaps those white people translated the scriptures in a way that would have racist society banging their heads against a wall? Who knows? What do you think? Don't believe the nonsense. Regardless, blacks are a huge part of history.... And we need to start telling the truth about it.

No. Fact is, it's all in the genes. Someone must have had a dominant gene somewhere. Maybe in the wives. It doesn't really matter.
Some people were looking for a way to villify the blacks they tried to justify owning as slaves.
It was a total crock. We are ALL the same.
No one with a brain they use believes this "descended from Ham" thing anymore.

I never heard of Ham being black. However, Elijah (or was it Elisha) had a servant who was cursed with a skin disease that made him white (I think that's true. I haven't read that part in a while). :D I really don't think your color matters. They thought, before Jesus came, the blind were cursed, but Jesus said otherwise. I think blacks and whites are equal.
PS Martin Luther King Jr. was awesome!! He did not use violence, and he won!!!!! :D :D

Skin color is not a curse, it is the amount of pigmentation in one's skin. Life is a gift, parents and children being part of that gift, therefore genes, pigment, all a part of God's gifting plan. Jesus came to save all sinners, all man kind, not specific to pigmentation; and that's all that matters.
