To earn my respect, they need to have good self-esteem and obvious personal boundaries that they don't allow people to cross. Likewise they also need to respect other people's boundaries and be willing to take responsibility for their own mistakes. They need to be honest.

People loose my respect when they refuse to admit when they are wrong and try to blame their mess-ups on other people. I also have no respect for push-overs who allow other people to step on them. I don't tolerate people who aren't honest with me either. People who refuse to do something about any uncontrolled addictions also lose my respect.

For someone to earn my respect, that person must have integrity, be real, and be good to others. To lose my respect , a person would not have the above mentioned qualities.

Earn my respect: Honest. Basically good to people and animals (actually the two go together).

Loose my respect: Dishonest. Cruel to people and animals. Attacking God ( this applies only to adults)

Good news everyone!

Anyone with at least 2 doomsday devices automatically warrants respect in the scientific world. And fortunately I have at least a dozen or so.

Now where did I leave that Plutonium-183 powered clock?

You can earn my respect by ridding yourself of your cumbersome ego. You can lose my respect by continuing to be a genuine person.

To earn respect, have a multi-layered character with kindness in there somewhere. To lose it, be pompous, rigid and cruel.

Usage of your brain as it was designed always gets respect. Cloned sheeple that do no thinking on their own and accept what is thrown at them as fact without questioning the authenticity is the only way you can really lose it.

Honesty, integrity, respect and justice in their daily lives, if they walk what they talk it helps.
I would lose the respect for them if they are false in their character

Being straight forward and honest is the best way to gain my respect.

The easiest way to lose it is to hurt me because with me trust and respect is intertwined and to lose one means losing the other also.

Honesty with a good heart. If you're honestly an azzhole, I still won't respect you.
