Yes, but I would add religion is not necessarily the only thing which makes good people do evil things. Things like nationalism can as well. But then you also have to ask yourself if somebody is a nationalistic or religious zealot who does or condones evil things in the name of their beliefs, are they a good person?

Well, it take a flawed ideology. Communism and Fascism certainly lead people to terrible acts that they might never have done otherwise.
Now it's easy to grant that religion is a flawed ideology, just not the only one.
