as an unmarried soldier, she will be given the option to stay in or get out. if she stays in, she will get put on limited duty until after the baby is born, and after her six weeks maternity leave is up, will be placed back on full duty and thus eligible to deploy. she will also be required to provide a Family Care plan to be in effect at all times. her being a single parent will in no way whatsoever excuse her from doing all that is required of her.

If she chooses to get out, it must be done before the baby is born, because they will not pay for it.

Yea she can stay as long as she is already out of Basic Training. If she is still in Basic then that could be a problem b/c your not supposed to be fraternizing (sp?) and since its against the rules she may be asked to leave (for a the best way I can say it) My mom was in the airforce and for pregnant with me within the first 6 months that she was active duty, she was fine and later had my 2 brothers- som im sure shell be fine, plus the military insurance will allow her to have the child for free!! Military benefits (from what I know of them) are really good. Good Luck.

She will be able to stay, it is possible to have two active duty parents, they will just take her off any deployment issues or anything. She WILL be considered a single parent UNLESS her and her boyfriend get married, if she is considered a single parent, she can be told she must give custody of the child up to another family member. Unfortunately thats how the military works

She being a single parent (even if she gets married to her Bf) will need a family care plan ar 600-20 , which means she must fill out da for 4850 and da form 4851 stating she is giving so and so power of att for her baby in the event she is deployed or has to go to training for more than a certain amount of time the person she appoints as her care provider will take responsibility of the child while she is gone, she must provide the care providers clearly money to care for the child.
she can appoint anyone who is fit and agrees to the terms stated on the forms she can use the same person for short term ( going to training for 2 weeks ) for long term care or she can appoint different person for long term ( deployment) .

Please have her go look up family care plans so she will get a better understanding.. jag can assist her on getting 4850 and 4851 , she will also be counsel by her commander about the family care plan.

Even if she gets married they will be dual military they both need to have the same person appointed for short and long term care.

let me know if you need anything else.

Women are allowed to have children while active duty. She will be nondeployable, but will not have any action taken against her unless she broke military regulations by sleeping with her junior or senior personel. If they work in different units, no problem.

Congrats, you can look forward to having a military baby as your niece or nephew! Military rules and regulations will take care of the rest!

She wont be able to stay. This is just the tip of the iceberg. The boyfriend will not do much for the child and will try to avoid the kids company. She is in for a rough rest of her life.

In USA army 97% of women got pregnant most of them 2 times! this shows that women in US army dont have sexual security.
