I am a 29 year old single mother who is kind (my friends tell me), hard working and independent but I tend to attract men who for lack of a better way to say are not very nice (they lie about their realtionship status, or try to put me down). I have horrible luck in love and have been alone for a very long time. I am wondering what can i do to better my chances for love and find a nice guy who wants a relationship?

See that's the problem you are looking for them and they are suppose to find you. Quit dwelling on finding the right one and just sit back,pray and wait for the right one to find you!

To better your chances...take more chances...or really just meet as many people as possible...to find a nice guy is almost harder than winning the lottery....
....it's not you....it's the guys...a lot of guys are controlling and cruel and will put you down just to try to elevate themselves...
You can also try internet dating...but it is not easy...a lot of men post pics of themselves...that look great and might even talk and email as nice guys...but in person are not as they were in the pics of just talking with them....
It is just not easy to meet and fall in love with a guy....
...It might sound funny...but celebrate you and your children...and each day find things you like to do and enjoy life and don't worry about finding a great guy...he will find you...

Be open to all possibilities, don't limit yourself to a particular type of guy. Maybe take a chance on someone you hadn't previously considered, you might be surprised.

be yourself, try to meet more people i mean go out by example go out to the movies, restaurant you can also invite the guy that you know very well who is near to you, so try to do sommething.

Find a hobbie you love and makes you happy, find others that do the same... could help.
