I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) and I'm just wonder first: What's your general opinion of mormons and second: has getting to know MItt Romney and/or Harry Reid changed your opinion of mormons? I understand i'll probably get some hate comments but could you please keep the swearing down to a minimum? haha thanks!

Mormons have good values, like hard work, morality, being modest, humble, and they also put a high value on education. I know lots of Mormons and think they are good people. Each person is given the unalienable right to vote as per their consciences. Mitt Romney and Harry Reid should be given that same privilege. I think both are patriotic and want what is best for the country.

There are good mormons and there are bad mormons. I was a mormon. The mormons I saw were cliqueish and hypocritical, much more concerned about outward appearance than the heart. They also do not follow the truth. The have added doctrine that is not consistant with the Bible, which is to be our guide to what is and isn't true.

Romney is not truly a conservative. He has flip flopped on abortion. But then, Mormons have too. When I was a mormon abortion was considered evil in all situations. Now they make exceptions for abortion. (Ensign, Novemer, 1998? or there about- somewhere between 95 and 2000) I don't think God has changed His mind about abortion. Why have Mormons?

Our opinion shouldn't really matter, but what does matter is why you believe what you believe...if that makes sense. There are things that I have seen with the Mormons that make me wounder how anyone could believe that...Joseph Smith a Prophet and baptism for the dead and what they think about Satan being Jesus' brother. Strange things to me that are not Biblical. I grew up on a Mormon ranch and we were not Mormon so it was the other side of them, that i saw. They were only friendly to their kind, wouldn't even let the kids play with non Mormon kids. Very keeping up with the Jones' type.
No one has change my opinion of them been the same for the past 20 years, they are nice people for the most part but I would really look in to you choice of 'religious group' they don't follow the Bible teachings. Study up on them yourself, and if all they are represents YOU...then by all means, enjoy. but I don't like to see people get caught up in something that they are blindly following.

I'm LDS also. You are right about getting the bad comments!!! We always do. Sometimes they are funny though!

As far as Mitt goes, I think his political and business careers speak louder then the fact that he is LDS. Yes, having someone in charge that believes in high family values and believes that the people should have more control is a good thing, but his political career is better even that.

The problem is that people don't really understand what we believe. They are more willing to believe something they heard that's either been taken out of context, or been twisted to mean whatever the other person wants it to mean. That doesn't help Mitt cause at all!

I don't think that religion should really be a factor in a political race, but that's just me. Of course, if it were a choice between Hilary and Mitt, I'd pick Mitt every time!!!! Sorry to those who support her, but I just think that having another Clinton in the whitehouse would be very bad!!!!

This is the problem with a mormon as president: The "Follow the Prophet" mentality as next only to god for leadership. Mormons swear they follow the prophet, are told to follow the prophet. insist on following the prophet, and follow the prophet to where ever he goes. How many of you ladies removed all but one earring?

I want my commander in chief to dedicated to follow the will of the American people, not just mormons. The church painted this picture, and I'm not buying it.

And Harry's not a real mormon - he's a Democrat...

Are you asking Mormons what their opinion of Mormons are, or are you asking everybody about their opinion of Mormons .

Although I don't agree with alot of the beliefs and am not Mormon, Most Mormons are very hardworking and honest people. However there are some who like to think they are in an elite country club, and no one else is invited.
