Because it teaches ignorance and to ignore facts.
Evidence says the earth is over 4 billion years old but Religious teachings say that is only 6000 years old. That like saying the grand Canyon is only as wide as a finger.
It teaches that we all came from two people and that a massive flood killed everything and that every animal came from only two copies of it. It Ignores evidence in favor of myths. It is nothing but damaging to humanity.

My own thoughts on this are:
Religion is wrong, Faith is wonderful.
Basically faith tells people that no matter what, if you live right, you will be rewarded. Living right is of course up to interpretation but faith as a whole is harmless.
Religion tells people that if you don't follow this you will be punished. Not only that but its your moral obligation to go out and convert or destroy anyone who disagrees. Modern times have winkled out the destroy part for the most part but it's still there. Religion views anyone who is not an adherent as base, immoral, and only important as potential convert.
Religion is the perversion of faith.

Because they have all been made up by conmen and fraudsters to control the masses, because wars are fought in the name of religion, because people are tortured and killed over their religion, because religions prevent people from doing things they might otherwise have done, and potentially from discovering their true capabilities or real happiness, etc etc

Please prove why any religion is correct. There are hundreds, more like thousands. Why believe a particular one because you were introduced to it first, and because there is a large following
If you were born in Buddhist-land (asia), you would be asking why organized religion is psycho about thinking they are always right and everyone else is wrong

Nothing is wrong with believing in something but i don't see why so many people think it is. Possibly because they don't have anything to believe in so they crap on religion and make everyone feel bad for doing so
