Unfortunately it seems like sofas are getting bigger and doorways are getting smaller. I would just let them do it, but I would think of moving day. And question how will I get it out.

geezzz, my brain was not really working that time. not exactly sofa, but a newly bought bed. as im alone doing it, i cannot get it thru the door, so i tried from the window. but since the window could only be opened halfway, i pulled out all the screens, winter window pane cover and everything so the bed could pass thru. when it was inside the bedroom, i found out that there is a slide glass door that you could only open it widely without any hassle but since there is a curtain, i thought its just a wall. and finally i asked the carpenter of this house to put up the window back to its place. lol. dammmnnnnn head!

Yes, I have But It wasn't a bay window.
I lived in a lower level apartment. Half basement, half above ground.
The sofa wouldn't fit thru the door, So I took out the window in the living room, It Just fit perfectly.
Was little bit of a hassle... But all went well,
Good Luck!!!!!

We've had to bring some things in down our neighbour's drive, then remove a fence panel into our back garden to be able to bring large items into the house via the patio door at the back. Side passage on the other side of the house is impossibly narrow.
And, many years ago now, my husband's flat mate (they lived first floor, in an old Victorian S/D house) had to have a first floor window removed to bring in his girl-friend's baby grand piano! That's love for you!!

Mmmm, good question, it would appear the furniture of today just does not fit into houses but great in a large show room. things that dont fit, eg, having to take a large round wooden table to bits to get it in the house, having to saw a double bed in half to get it up the stairs , and one more ,Yes, you have guessed, removing a window to get the settee in. I think manufacturers should state maximum door opening required ,then when they find they can not sell them they just might change their designs. Anyway, goodluck

No me personally, but a friend of mine (who had quite a big house) couldn't get their sofa in either. The hallway at the front was such a tight squeeze that they had to remove a the window instead......I wouldn't mind but he moved 8 months later and had to do it again.....doh!

this is quite common these days to remove a window to get large items in and out of houses . if you dont think your are up to removing the window your self . you should ask a window fitter to do this for you it doesnt take long so it shouldnt cost you much..
