I'm looking for advice on how one should approach a potential employer while considering a career change while attending a career fair/job fair.

Just walk up and talk to them. Be confident in yourself. They are at the fair to find good people.

unusual that a scientific degree could waste away in a report cabinet - i wish your scientific skills would be marketable if/while string is not a achieveable determination.
