Its causing me a lot of stress and I have become ill as a result over the last few weeks, especially as many of my colleagues have had their shifts changed. So far I have been fobbed of with excuses such as; 'you are the only one left with enough experience to support the new management team' and 'we don't know what to do with you yet'. I have had three new managers in as many months and the term 'chocolate teapot' just about applies to their ability to resolve the situation. I am considering quitting over this but may lose out on a potential redundancy payment which would be quite high as I have been there a while or asking my doctor to sign me off with stress as I feel that bad about it. I am torn though as I feel very loyal toward my employer. Any suggestions on the next step.

How was it made known to you in January that you were to change hours ? If this was a general briefing or even better in writing you have a strong case to invoke the companies grievance procedure.
As this is making you ill it is doing none of the parties any good just letting it spin out .
My suggestion is first of all ask for a personal meeting with HR and describe to them how this lack of action and definite response as to when you will start your new hours is making you ill . Thee duty of care means they should be sympathetic to your fairly straightforward request i,e. Please give me in writing a date as to when I will be able to be on similar shift pattern as other colleagues
If that doesn't work then the grievance procedure should kick in and you are entitled to discuss the issue with next level of management above your boss . It is usually best if you can find another colleague to sit in such interviews with you .
Whatever you do ... DON'T RESIGN .. that will put in jeopardy any potential redundancy pay , although I think you would win any wrongful dismissal case you have had enough stress as it is
Good Luck stick to your guns , be polite but firm

You are being used-here's hoping that you still have a job after all of this.

Pray on it and god will see you through it. I will pray for you too. I dont know what the exact situation is but only you know how much more you can take

Look for stress relievers and make sure there is no clause in the employment policy that would keep you from being able to get the redundancy payment if you are out on a medical leave when it is issued.

i hope this helps

You must put your health first. Tell your employer to resolve the situation by the end of the month or accept non compliance of your request as a notice period, then sign off sick.
If they still don't resolve your shifts advise them that you will seek a tribunal for constructive dismissal as your obvious stress is as a result of their lack of foresight. Good luck

First of all, talk with your employer again about everything exactly as you've just informed us. Remind them what was promised to you in January.

Let them know that staying on one shift is causing you a lot of stress and it is making you ill. (If you fall apart, they will be liable to you and you will have a right to sue!) You should always be on equal footing as your colleagues and never ever treated differently for ANY reason.

Is your place of employment unionized? If so, talk with the shop stewart. You should NEVER EVER be put in stressful positions "just because"... It's important that everyone be comfortable and happy in their place of employment. You should never be treated as though you're employed in a "sweat shop". You have rights! Stand up for them... If you permit them to "walk all over you" (treat you the way they want), they will continue. BE VERY ASSERTIVE!!

Then if that doesn't work, "Write to management, courtesy copy the higher ups..." let them know you've taken proper protocol already and you're now taking it to the next level.

Best of luck to you! xoxo

Keep asking them about it. Talk to the HR department. Tell everyone that it is your top priority. Keep up the pressure.
