Yes, deja vu is when we recognize something that we have charted in our plan for this life while at "home" before we incarnated in human form on Earth. So every time you have deja vu you can be assured that you are on the right path of what you had planned.

The other part of deja vu though is when we recognize something in this life but it was something from a previous life. But this is generally more than just a deja vu...it's knowing details that we shouldn't be able to know, such as the streets of a place we've never been but may have been a special place we lived in a past life.

I experience deja vu alot as well and always feel that it has a significant meaning but I'm not sure what. What is Sylvia Brown's take on it exactly?

Hmmm...way not to post a question. Please be specific and state what Sylvia Browne's take is on the subject.

atheist (THINK)

A clinical correlation has been found between the experience of déjà vu and disorders such as schizophrenia and anxiety,[9] and the likelihood of the experience considerably increases with subjects having these conditions. However, the strongest pathological association of déjà vu is with temporal lobe epilepsy.[10][11] This correlation has led some researchers to speculate that the experience of déjà vu is possibly a neurological anomaly related to improper electrical discharge in the brain. As most people suffer a mild (i.e. non-pathological) epileptic episode regularly (e.g. the sudden "jolt", a hypnagogic jerk, that frequently occurs just prior to falling asleep), it is conjectured that a similar (mild) neurological aberration occurs in the experience of déjà vu, resulting in an erroneous sensation of memory.

I don't agree with anything that comes out of that scam artist's mouth.

If you want to understand what really goes on in the brain that causes deja vu, I would recommend the book, Brains that Work a Little Bit Differently. It explains it so that anyone can understand it.

*Bongernet managed to sum up exactly what is stated in the book I recommended....

Neurons in the memory centre of the brain called the hippocampus make a mental map of new places and experiences, then store them away for later use.

Déja vu occurs when two events or places are very similar to each other, overlap and thus the feeling of déja vu takes place.

From reading what appears to be accurate/authentic info concerning Sylvia, I find it hard to really believe she has the capabilities that she says she has. For instance, before the shows are aired on Montel Williams, she has already interviewed those who will be called upon and learned something about their backgrounds.

Sylvia Browne might need a mental evaluation.

Sylvia Browne is a fraud who has been debunked time and time again. Why do you still believe her nonsense? Ask Shawn Hornbeck's parents. She told them years ago that their son was dead. Then--surprise, surprise--he was found alive.

Psychic ability has *never* been verified. It has been studied and studied, looking for a pattern that beats the odds of chance even slightly.

Sylvia Browne has never demonstrated any ability either. She she does little more than provide vague advice to the credulous.

I've pondered deja vu deeply and I've come to conclusion that it has a physical cause, probably due to linked neural pathways within the orbito frontal cortex.
