Unfortunately some people are so lost in their lives, and are so desperate to find hope and meaning, that they are just suckers for these scams labelled as miracles. I can't watch it because it just makes me cringe.
As for Benny Hinn, Allah will judge each soul when this life is over, and every good deed will be rewarded, just like every bad deed committed, that individual will be held accountable.
Allah knows best.

Good question. People are desperate. People like Benny Hinn put a bad face on legitimate ministries that are doing great things all over the world.

Hyper emotionalism.
I have been to a Benny Hinn crusade and even fell down- it's hyper emotionalism. And, Christians are told that this is the power of God Himself, you have to be a brave, obstinate ar#e to question anything without feeling dirty.
Praise God I got out, and praise God for my holy rebelliousness!

People are gullable. My grandmother is one of those people, and no matter how hard I try, she will not listen to reasoning.
Benny Hinn is absolutely disgusting. I watched one of his shows where he was in a not-so-fortunate area of Africa, and those people STILL gave up what little money they had! He also commented on how he was healing a woman with sweating under her right eye...come on.

I don't know. I tell you just watching some of those people makes me get ill.
I remember seeing some interview where a family keeps taking their son that is in a wheelchair to one of those "healers" every year. The man keeps praying for him, but he is still in his wheelchair. . .so the guy tells them God said it wasn't time yet and to bring him back next time!!!!!!
How about helping your son find the best way to live his life in the situation he is in, you know . . .sigh.

Because they want to believe, a feeling so deeply ingrained into their consciousness that they will allow themselves to deceive themselves into believing, and they won't even realize that is what they are doing. Its easy to tell this self deception by how angry they get when you point out the obvious falsities. They reply with incoherent rambling about the questioner burning in hell for not believing.

Many people will believe in things simply because they want it to be real without regard to facts or logic. They allow themselves to be deceived to maintain their fantasy ideal.

I think some people are just so desperate for a glimmer of hope that they'll buy into anything.

people are desperate to be healthy, richly "blessed", and sure that they will be "with god" in the afterlife. if someone is convincing enough, with a strong following that will attest to thier "power", people will buy it... thats why.
