Great Scrip. Thank you...God bless....

The reason men refuse eternal life?

Simple; they are fulfilling this prophecy:

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, ....false accusers,....fierce,despisers of them that are good,....traitors, ,....lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God,.......ever learning but never able to come to the knowledge of Truth".( II Tim. 3:1-7)

Gilbert, honest, my 'hearst' is not troubled even one little bit. This 'promise' an an eternal life is, on the face of it, utter nonsense. The heart stops and soon afterward the brain dies, and no matter how deep one's belief in a supernatural god in the sky, that, young sir, is that, one is dead. Dead is dead. There is no eternity at play here--our poor corpses decay, all manners of critters see the remains as food, the elements rush it all along, and really rather soon all that's apt to be left are a scattering of bones, some rags perhaps, and a skull. There is no 'soul' floating about, no 'spirits,' no ghosts. It has been going on for millions of years--life across the spectrum has more or less rotted away. Nothing remarkable about it, nothing unusual about it, it's the way nature works. The introduction of a god by illiterate desert nomads during the Bronze Age responded to their needs at the time, to their fears, their ignorance of Earth and its workings--fire, wind, storm, snow, flood, earthquake. But now, in the 21st century, while we have only really started to put our brains to full use, we know enough to know that fire and storm and earthquake are not caused by a god. Gilbert, you are a bright and resourceful chap, but it's time that you explored beyond the NCV, don't you think? Be well.

No such factor. An atheist believes in NO god/desses. that could contain Allah,Ganesh, Kali, Isis, Thor, Gaia, Danu, and so on...maximum English speaking customers are on right here and are raised Christian, yet i'd say my morals & ideals are from a mixture of empathy & society. i'm professional-selection, and so are many Xians and that i'm additionally vegetarian. The Bible is somewhat contradictory. That total 'no longer killing' factor? rather some Xians do no longer seem to have a difficulty with production unit farms, the dying penalty or going to conflict. And in case you examine the OT, you do no longer would desire to bypass some distance to envision some tale the place the 'chosen ones' are commanded to kill. There are over 30,000 Xian denom's obtainable...there's a clarification why.

The atheist are swallowed by "their own image in the mirror."
They figure they are as much God as anybody else and always think they are the most intellectual. Pride robs them.

The end result is much the same. The New Age movement is looking for the god within and the atheist simply settles it in their mind that they are god.

In essence, that is their believe system. In this claim to fame and armed with science, they lose sight of the genius of creation that surrounds them and easily proclaims there is structure, design, and a Creator.

Oh well, deception is deception!

This is a silly question. (Sorry, I've always told my children and my students that every question is a good question but your's is not exactly a question.) You're making an assumption about something based on no real facts. It would be like if I were to say to you (which I wouldn't, this isn't a real question), "Why would you choose to suffer in life rather than choose acceptance and equanimity?" Truly, believe what makes you feel good, what feels right to you but always remember that the only person you can change is yourself.

I don't see it as "Choosing eternal death". I see it as taking responsibility for what has been placed in front of me today. I will not be cruel to my fellow humans because they might not believe in my invisible sky monster. I will not support war to fullfill some doomsday prophesy. If "God" has a problem with that, then I suppose eternal death is the price I must pay.

I choose to not lie to myself. Why do you choose a single god over multiple ones? Or nirvana? Did you do any research, or do you follow that religion simply because your parents handed you a bible? We could ask these things all day. I choose eternal death, as you put it, because i choose reality over a book. If i live a good life according to my own conscience, what kind of god would punish that? If i am damned for living a decent life and trying to improve society, then i wouldn't want to follow that god in the first place.

Why do you treat fantasy as reality and choose to quote myth as some fact based concept? Seems religion worships death (because of that promise of eternal life) and at the same time is totally in fear of it (because they know that promise is an empty one).

Oh bother, we are not choosing DEATH. Don't be silly.

1. There is no evidence for the existence of god. I am not just talking about the Christian god. There is no evidence for ANY god.

2. There is no evidence of life after death.

3. There is no evidence for the soul.

4. There is no evidence for heaven or hell.

Therefore, your question is GROUNDLESS.

I don't believe that Jesus was the son of a God even if he actually existed.I don't believe in a personal God, Jesus, nor Satan. I studied the Bible for myself, don't believe what it claims is true in most regards based on evidence, reality, and common sense. I could no more force myself to believe it than I could force myself to believe there are little green men living on Mars.
